3 yr old blue heeler.

My heeler very recently tore his ACL.. Any heeler people out there?? Is this common for them? He's only 3 and my baby.. He's the BEST dog anyone could ever have!!! I'm worried.. Surgery on the 31st.. New proceedure, TPLO.. Anyone who can tell me anything would be helpful.. Hints on how to keep a heeler down after surgery would also be great!! Poor little guy!!!

My ACD has had foot surgery a couple of times and she has always been a fast healer (no pun intended:rolleyes:). I'm sure he will be fine! Unfortunately to keep her off of it after surgery it involved a lot of kennel time.
