Since Harry passed away and we got Rose. It's bittersweet for all of us. Harry is still so missed but Rose is such an amazing dog.
She's come such a long ways from the scared little dog we picked up. We were nervous about taking her on, but felt it was something we had to do. We'd heard she was afraid of everything, she wasn't very pretty (from her old owner), etc. She needed us, though. A lot of people thought it was too soon, but I can say for certain it wasn't. She has been the best, sweetest dog you could ask for. When we went to pick her up, I was shocked- Rose was just gorgeous. She hid from us and was not very happy when we took her home but within an hour was playing with Beau like they were best friends. That's how we knew she was meant to stay. For the first few months she was very timid. She'd snap if you got too close to her sometimes, she'd pee herself quite often because she was scared. She's still a very sensitive dog, but she has come a long long way. No snapping, no submissive peeing any more. When her breeder saw her back the first time, she was amazed. Rose became a happy little dog and a lot wilder. They asked 'What did you do to her!?' and laughed at her antics. We promised her she'd always have a home and never be bounced around again and we plan on making good on our promise.
She is such a wonderful dog.
