I adopted this puppy from a home that was neglecting her. She is 2.5 months old. She arrived at my house and was fine. The following day she began to wheeze and cough. Every 6 hours or so she will cough and gag. It lasts about 15 seconds and then stops. I have seen this last for a week now and I am just wondering, whats going on?

Probably kennel cough, but you should check with a vet.

I agree with a vet check. If it were to be kennel cough they give antibiotics now to keep it from progressing to pneumonia. I have been through this with 3 dogs a few months ago. One was a severe case that required hospital stay and sub-Q fluids at home. Only a vet will know for sure. Also .... sick puppies can dehydrate quickly.

Let us know what the vet says.
