  1. Peanut butter for dental health

    Dog Health Questions
Thanks to everyone who replied. My little guy only has 7 teeth left, so I am trying hard to save them. BTW, I do use peanut butter ground by my local grocer with no salt or sugar.
  2. Favorite and least favorite breeds

    General Dog Forum
My favorite dog is a working border collie, owned by a farmer, but I am not a farmer or even a rancher. I like large dogs; I once almost adopted an abandoned GSD who looked to be ~100 lbs. I am not situated to own such a dog, but I sure loved him, and he wanted to come home with me. I was...

    Dog Health Questions
Hello, I heard that it is a good dentifrice for dogs, that it removes plaque. I have tried brushing my little chi mix's teeth & noticed they do get white, and his breath is good for a while afterwards. Is anyone else aware of this? I learned it from a random stranger with another small dog :)

First Time Dog Owner and Basic Questions
Bit of an overstatement, but on walks he likes to smell & often pee. He is 10+ years old, neutered male. When we are walking downtown, I don't like to see him peeing on so many things, otherwise I only mind when it stops me walking at a good pace. Is it possible to have him not pee when I...
  7. Should I try to curtail my neutered male peeing FREQUENTLY on walks

    Dog Rescue Forum
No UTI. He's always done this, and has had several vet checkups. What is a belly band? I feel this might be too much, since this doesn't happen for many months at a time. 2 things I just thought of: 1. His age (10+) do male dogs get prostate issues like men? 2. My schedule can be pretty...

His name is captain falcon, and I have had him 3 years. He was 7&1/2 when I got him, so he's 10+ now. He is a wonderful little guy (chi mix) and supposedly well house-trained, though he has had several accidents during the night, maybe 5-8 x in the 3 years I've had him. I have put out pee...
  9. Meet Carlos the Xolo

Me too; the communication between dog & person is a wonderful thing. 1. About your daughter who he bonded to originally: is she the one who went off to college? No wonder he felt the need for action. 2. Could Carlos have squeezed himself out of the crate?
  10. Growling in the house...at nothing?

    Dog Training Forum
I have a 9-yr-old dog who rarely barks at anything. However, sometimes she will get zoomies, scratch herself on my brick hearth, & bark. Amazingly, I have found all that stops if we go for a walk.

I am a big proponent of adopting senior dogs! No puppies for me; I need my sleep lol. Anyway, I realize lots of people love puppies, but I just love older dogs. Maybe because I'm getting up there myself. My dog, Captain Falcon, had been in the shelter 5 months when I took him home. I...
