4 weeks ago we helped Buster cross the bridge. As much as I miss my boy, I am thankful for the almost 10 years we had together.
Bubs was a strange one. He loved the vet and he loved hugs. This meant his last moments werent full of fear, but love.
He went for a car ride (YAY!) to one of his favorite places (like I said, he was a strange one). He got hugs from the tech in charge of his care (Okay, so she was really restraining him...). And treats to the very end. In the end he just laid his big head down and went to sleep.
While we're still taking it day by day and have a huge Saint sized hole in our hearts...Bubby didnt suffer the horrible pain bone cancer brings with it. We had him seen within hours of the first symptoms. He was gone less than 24 hours from the time his leg started to swell.
We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give
