Archie, our 9-month old German Shepherd puppy ...just passed away
It's hard to describe what just happened to our puppy. Only 6 weeks ago, he was active and full of life. At one point he started to have problems walking. After a referral by our local vet to a specialist clinic, he was diagnosed with Stage 5 Lymphoma cancer. In a matter of days he had problems breathing due to blood accumulating between his lungs and chest. The oncologist preformed a drainage of the blood and we immediately started chemo treatment. The blood test one week later showed no improvement. His blood platelets were very low and he wasn't getting better. We spent a few more weeks with Archie, but continued breathing problems and general deterioration left us with nothing else to do...but to let him go. I'm still in shock as to how this could happen with such a young dog. I guess this is something we'll never get over. We made a website tribute to Archie to celebrate his life. Please check it out if you have some time. www.thunderdisco.com/archie
