Not a dog, but ... farewell Riley

We had to say goodbye to our 18 year old cat, Riley, last Monday. We've had her since she was about 6 weeks old. When we got her she could fit in one hand and was too young to purr consistently. She had developed renal failure a few years ago and was hyperthyroid so we got her through the past 3 years with SubQ fluids and thyroid meds. She'd slowly gotten skinnier over time, but she was doing well until about 2 weeks ago when she suddenly lost more weight and started to get weaker. We knew she was ready to go when she stopped coming upstairs to sleep with us. It was the right thing to do but there's a huge hole in our lives. Goodbye Riley. I hope you're somewhere where you can lie happily in the sun.

I'm so sorry Sandakat. I understand the hurt you're feeling.
I wish you the strength it takes.
    Hugs

Oh, I'm sorry. Was she the really fluffy black one in some of your pictures?

Aww, sorry to hear that Sandakat! Family is family, dog or cat or anything else. I'm glad you guys had 18 great years together.
