  1. Greenies - my dog stopped liking them, has this happened to anyone else?

    General Dog Forum
If you're giving them to him every day he could just be bored with them. Are you cutting back on his food because you're giving him greenies? It could be that he's just full.
  2. Pet Insurance - Worth it?

    Dog Health Questions
My advice is always if you can afford the cost of an emergency then don't bother with pet insurance. You're paying a lot for something that "might" happen and then might not even be fully covered. The exception would be if you bought a breed that has known health issues, then insurance might...
  3. Does it sound like my dog really dislikes me?

    General Dog Forum
It sounds like he is doing very well and definitely likes you. Some dogs are just not affectionate. We have one dog who is a total cuddle bug and one dog who is not affectionate at all. She is very happy, friendly, and excitable, she's just not affectionate and doesn't like to be "smothered"...
  4. Leaving for work

    Dog Training Forum
That happened with one of my dogs too. As a puppy he was always used to being in his crate at night (with the door closed and latched). When he was an adult we decided to give him more freedom and leave him in the room where the crate is, so he can still go in if he wants, but is not locked...
  5. Please help before it becomes a problem!

    Dog Training Forum
I agree with LeoRose too. Never free feed and keep the dogs separated during meal times. You might have success doing as another poster suggested, by keeping them separated and slowing getting closer and closer, but it will take more than days - think months. And it may not work at all. Your...

Kane will sometimes "fake it" too just to please me, haha!
  7. Help me choose a dog breed

First Time Dog Owner and Basic Questions
Why not go with a lab? They are great family pets, are good with kids, and easy to train (especially for those with little dog experience).
  8. Any idea what Cooper is mixed with?

    General Dog Forum
Wow he's beautiful! I'm not sure what else he might be crossed with though.
  9. cat poop problems

    Dog Training Forum
The only success I had with this was just making sure the dogs couldn't get to the litter box. Make sure the litter box is the enclosed style, with just an opening for the cat to get it. What I did was put the litter box under a desk, with the opening facing the wall. Only leave just enough...
  10. Glowing or light-up discs/balls?

    General Dog Forum
I have had a couple of dog balls that flash when they bounce. The one they particularly liked, the other they just like okay. I think it was just more ball preference more than the fact that it lit up. But they definitely can see that it flashes. The disadvantage of this type of flashing...
  11. What mix can she be?

First Time Dog Owner and Basic Questions
It's really hard to tell when they're so young. How old is she and how much does she weigh?
  12. Muzzle's ok? Or last resort? Destructive dog

    Dog Training Forum
Crate train her. An 8 hour work day is fine for an adult dog who is crate trained. Just make sure she gets exercise before you leave for work and when you get home. It's better than having her destroy your home and safer for her as well.
  13. what kind of dog do i have?

    General Dog Forum
It's hard to tell. How old is she and how much does she weigh?
  14. Two dogs trying to adjust to each other

    Dog Training Forum
I agree with everyone else. Move or keep your dog at your parents' place. These dogs should not be allowed to interact together at all. Did the dog bite you on purpose or did he just miss while trying to get your dog? I'm not sure I would feel safe staying there at all with a dog that bit me.
  15. Peanut butter for dental health

    Dog Health Questions
Yeah adding a sugar-filled sticky substance to the hard-to-reach places in your dog's mouth just doesn't seem like a good idea to me. If you want to use a natural product you'd be better off with coconut oil. Or make your own with baking soda.
