Hello, The only breed that I have utilized other than the Turkish breeds is the Pyrenees.
They were basically easy to introduce to the stock, but some would allow the coyotes to come in and eat everything. I never seemed to find a good bloodline,,,, as I know many are very capable.
The Anatolians I raised were great predator defense dogs, but quite a few wanted to play or chase the stock. Some would also roam. Once past their teenage phase, most were great dogs. Just getting there was quite an investment of time.
The Kangals that I have had for 4 generations were great predator defense, litterally eliminating all loss. Mostly homebodies, staying on their job better than the Anatolians.
The Turkish Boz Have way less play chase behavior, and seem to stay on the job well. I have been able to raise 5 puppies together in a pasture with my sheep. Something I would never have dared with my Kangals or the Anatolians. The Pyrenees would have been safe I feel.
