    Post Approval

I attempted to submit a post and the following statement showed up in place of my submitted post:

"Thank you for posting! Your post will not be visible until a moderator has approved it for posting."

I have over 240 posts since joining DF and have never posted anything even remotely offensive or derogatory. I was just wondering what are other reasons for one's post needing approval?

    Edited to add:
Evidently, the problem has at least been partially resolved as this post finally showed up.

I've found that my posts get sent to moderation if I have several links. Not sure if it's truly related or just a coincidence, though.

    Hi,

Posts are sent to a moderation queue regardless of how many posts you have. We have a plug-in in place to minimize the spam that appears on the forum and unfortunately, the parameters set also pick up on "innocent" links that users post. We do our best to clear out the queue as quick as possible.

Why can't you put an exception for links from image hosting sites like tumblr, photobucket, etc?

Make that one link for me. Annoying. I like to back my statements with information from other sites. Oh well.

Someone said that if you post first, then go into editing to add the links, it's much less likely to get sent to moderation. I haven't tried it myself but it kind of makes sense.

    Re: Post Approval

My post today just went to moderation and I don't have any links attached.

    Re: Post Approval

All posts have been approved now. It's not just links in a post that potentially gets flagged...it could be an image or even a keyword that the filter picks up.
