    Large breed food

So we have been buying large breed adult food for our dog for a while now, and he's always had trouble keeping the bigger sized food down. I accidentally bought the same food, but for medium sized dogs, and hasn't had any troubles keeping it down. Someone suggested that large dog food has something in it for their joints. Is this true and will we need some kind of joint supplement if we continue with the medium size breed food?

Does your dog eat really fast? If my dogs eat too fast, they don't actually chew and will sometimes throw up. You can get a slow-down dog dish, or use a portion pacer to get him to eat slower.

I don't know much about dog nutrition or what the difference in food is. The food I buy is not specific to large breed dogs. I do know it's more important for giant breeds though. What kind of dog do you have?

He does eat fast. We tried putting a bowl upside down in his bowl to slow him down, but he would still throw it up every once and a while. He's a Boxer/Pitt??? he about 70lbs.

my guys are big, I look for a protein to fat, and what the cal per cup is. I actually prefer a food that is just food and no special supplements in it. I would rather have more control of adding supplement separately. They are very athletic in ability, but not very active dogs consistently. the bag recommends 8 cups and they do well to maintain on 5 or 6 daily.
