    Reporting Visitor Messages

We've had about two dozen reports, over the past couple of months, about visitor messages requesting signatures for a petition to the White House.

The member who posted those re-registered a dozen times, but all of the memberships were banned back in December. If you click on the user name of the member who sent you a spam message, and that member is already banned, there is no reason to report the message. You can just delete it.

Moderators can also delete them, but that would involve going into the profiles for several thousand members - one at-a-time.

    Re: Reporting Visitor Messages

    Okay, listen up.

We're still getting regular alerts about spam visitor messages from December. We just go one that's a year old.

If you get spam in a visitor message, don't click on any provided links, but PLEASE click on the user name for the sender. If he has already been banned, there is absolutely no reason to report him.

And maybe think about checking your visitor messages more than once-a-year.

    Re: Reporting Visitor Messages

And today, 3-1/2 years after the spammer was banned, someone reported the same visitor message.

    Please read above posts.
