any chance of making one? I love chat rooms...

Sounds like fun, although I have to admit, guilty secret, this is the closest I've ever come to a chat room.

Me too, Chrissy...actually this is my first anything on the computer besides shopping and looking stuff up-which I am VERY good at the first!!!! Chat room would be great though!

If outside forum rules ( ie rude etc) its easy to copy the page, and send then as an alert.
I think a chat room here would be great...
So- let the mods and admin work on this and hopefully they can figure out how.

Ahaha, my Mom calls me the shopping and research queen. Do you think we mighta been separated at birth???

One lady was in a chat room as her dog gave birth. Several of us sat in that room and we helped her.. So its NOT just idle chat- we helped her deliver a litter ..;

*raises hand* Hi, my name is Chrissy and I am a shopaholic..yep- that's me!! haha Yes, we might have been seperated...but quite a few years apart Alteast we have the same name!! haha

It would be pretty good, and it's been casually suggested before. The first possible client that comes to mind would be IRC, which as a person that chats in a room there, is in a pretty user-friendly format. However, someone (or ones) would have to be pretty well versed in the technicalities of created and maintaining and channel, and I think it really would need monitors of some kind or something if it were to be affiliated with the main site.

I'm sure there are other clients out there with such possibility as well.

Would be a lot of fun though...DogChat?

I actually do think there should be a chat mod....

Anyways, the other forum chat rooms I've been in used FlashChat

Oooh that would be fun! What a great idea... as long as some of those other issues get worked out as far as moderation.

Maybe only have it open to members and senior members, to prevent trolls and the like from "misbehaving" in the chat room? I'm not sure if that's even possible or a good idea, just a thought.

The same rules should apply in there as in the general forum. No slander, racial slurrs and attacking other members....etc. This is why so many of them get shut down. A shame cause the majority of the people who use them do "behave".

Yup, exactly!

And the thing is, if there is something bad in the chat room, unless a mod really see's it, he/she won't be able to do um...mod-ly actions.
