    TOTW or 4health cat food

Which one do you think is better? I looked at both of them side by side at the Tractor supply-I am switching my 8 year old cat from Chicken Soup to one of these because we are moving and there isn't a store within an 80 mile radius that carries CS. I give him wet food once in awhile, and he drinks a lot of water (he likes the dogs water for some reason) or he just licks out the shower when your done He's a pretty solid (15 pounds) healthy cat.

Well, I know the cat formula of 4health is brand new, like it was released within the past few months (I think). So like me, I don't think you're going to find many people with opinions on it yet. But I bought it as a suppliment to canned food for my new cat, Olive. I got it because it was the cheapest one at Tractor Supply that didn't have loads of corn in it. I think it looks decent, but it's not grain free like TOTW is (I think). So if money is no object I would go with the TOTW, personally.

Money really isn't a big deal-here it's only a 3 dollar difference, I'm not sure what it will be like in AL-but it can't be that much different. I just know that I've heard good things about the dog version of 4Health-I didn't realize that the cat stuff was that new. My only worry-is I've heard that TOTW can cause Kidney problems in older cats. He's never been on a grain free food.

I didn't know 4Health came out with a cat food. I'm going to have to check that out! I feed my dogs 4Health performance and they're doing great on it! What is the price on the cat food and does it come in different varieties like the dog foods?

In central TX-the smaller bag of 4Health was $6.99 and the bigger bag (can't remember the weight) was $19.99. And the TOTW was $3 more then the 4Health. There was 2 different formula's for the 4Health-I know one was an All Stages and I can't remember the second formula.

The other formula is "indoor". Less fat, etc. I don't buy indoor or lite dry foods because they have more carbs, and carbs are what make cats fat. I just bought a bag of the all-life-stages food but haven't opened it yet. It was $19.99 for 18 pounds. TOTW is $22.99 for 15 pounds. Personally, I'd mix the 2 foods. That way you can up the protein level, but not too much, and also you aren't going totally grain-free. Best of both worlds!

I was on my way out the door to pick up more dog food when I saw this post so I took a look at the cat food while I was there and ended p picking up a bag of the indoor. They were out of the all stages when I got there. It was $19.99 for 18 lbs and looks pretty good to me. I'll see how she does on it and let everyone know. I've been trying to find a good affordable dry food for her since I can't afford feeding canned food right now. I gave her a little bit when I got home and she seemed to love it. She's weird about eating sometimes, she goes crazy trying to get the dogs food but she doesn't always like cat food lol.

4Health now comes in grain-free. Will be trying it out next month to see if my animals are ok on it. They have been on TOTW, but if I could save some money and they do fine on it, then I will get it.
