Definitely a lab mix of some sort.. maybe hound? We have a lab/hound mix at the shelter right now that looks a lot like that girl. Not sure what kind of hound though.

I agree this is a pic of my friend's lab/pit when she was about 3 or 4 months old

I'm curious as to which of her features make you guys say pit?

The only thing that resembles pit to me is the white. But a lot of breeds have white on them for one reason or another; not necessarily just pits, it's just easier to say pit mix than narrow it down.

The 4th picture really shows me some possible pit characteristics....the tail set is a big one...that "pump handle" tail...the flanks...even the head shape and muzzle have some similarities.....if you look at her ears pulled back

The ears and her face. If she stays around 40 to 50 lbs as adult, then it is possible that she has a pit bull in her.

I don't see pit. In the first picture the first thing I thought was lab/boxer mix. I did a quick search of lab/boxers and I found this site http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/boxador.htm Scroll down and look at the chocolate puppy and the 2 black dogs after her. I think they look a lot like your pup.

Lab/boxer was the rescue group's guess. I'm not sure I see it very clearly, though the pics you linked to are pretty close. Then again, I've found pics of lab/staffordshire bull terrier mixes that are almost identical as well!

I don't see boxer at all.....I think a shelter/rescue would rather call there dogs boxer mixes then Pit bull mixes due to the stigma against Pit bulls...its probably 10x easer to adopt out boxer mixes then pit mixes

I would guess apbt over staffy....Unless you are in the UK...the only SBT I have meet have been ether people deeply evolved in bully rescue or show people...but its not impossible...though with regard to BSL or breed bans and Home owner insurance there really is not difference between a American Pit Bull Terrier and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

I agree. Unfortunately my apartment does have breed restrictions on pit bulls of any mix...I originally told my landlord she was a lab/boxer mix, which is the only reason I was approved. I couldn't care less if she was 100% pit, I really just don't want any problems with my landlord and her forcing me to get rid of the dog after I grow attached to her.

Interesting, did not know SBTs were so uncommon on this side of the pond.

I honestly don't see much pit in there. It's definitely possible though.

Lab mix, and a cute one at that.

I agree...nothing SCREAMS pit...but if I was asked what mix she could possibly be that would be my guess

I guess she could be a poorly bred lab....but what about the white?? would that be considered mismarked????

I do agree that she is super cute

I agree with PG,looks like a definite labXpit mix to me. The decider for me is the 4th photo down, the skull top, jowl and eye set are very pit bull like to me and although its basically the same for a SBT i would guess not just because there are not so many over there.

I have seen quite a few LabXSbt and they do look like your dog but a APBTXLab and a SBTXLab basically look the same to me. PG she does remind me of Isis thats going to be one good looking dog.

Cheers Tw1n for the awesome sig
