Dog won't drink from water bowl

My dog suddenly became scared of her water bowl. If I take it outside she will drink from it, but if it's on the kitchen floor or anywhere inside she avoids it and looks very scared of it. I have tried different bowls and cups and plates. anything with water in it she avoids. She is able to drink outside for some reason. She didn't start doing this until recently. She wasn't afraid of it before. I'm not sure what happened to trigger this but I wondered if anyone else has had experience with this and has advice.

You said she'll drink outside, but will she drink from a bowl anywhere else in the house? If so, I would try putting it, say, at the very edge of the kitchen (or as close as she'll get) and then just slowly inch it towards the kitchen over a period of time. May be a pain for awhile but it's better than having to take her outside to drink every time.

Or maybe try adding some chicken broth to her water to entice her to drink.

Are your kitchen floors slick? Maybe she slipped while she was getting a drink and now she associates the bowl in the kitchen with that experience. Maybe put a rug under it.

Good luck. These little guys always keep us guessing, don't they?

Does it maybe slide around on the floor when she drinks? Zoey and Maggie won't eat/drink out of any bowl that moves or makes noise when they are at it.. They've both got big heavy ceramic bowls that don't move an inch.

She actually won't drink from a bowl inside anywhere that I can tell. I don't have that big of a house, so it would be easy for her to associate the bad experience she had to the whole inside. The kitchen is wood floor and is kind of slippery especially if she's running. I've seen her wipe out before. Maybe she wiped out and landed on the water bowl and spilled it or something. I will try the rug idea. Maybe that will work. Thanks for your response.
