I got my dog back from the vet last tuesday to get him neuteured and get his second set of shots, and since he's been back hes been acting really really wierd.... He sorta waddles around sometimes, like in position to drag his butt on the floor but he walks like that, (Not because hes in pain, he is also capable of running he just does it sometimes, wierdly but i can tell hes in no pain) and he will sometimes pee while walking like that. He walks around and pees wherever, even in front of me and he never used to do that.. he also freaks out and rubs his face everywhere.. normal dog behaviour but now it is more frequent than it is normal. I can totally tell theres something wrong wiht him, so can my roomate and even my best friend who just visited was amazed at how strange he was acting.. Im really worried, its like he cant control his bladder.. He also actually does drag his butt on the floor (which again isnt so atypical for a dog, but it is for mine as he never did that before I got him neutered, or atleast not so often.) Hes just messed up.. Also, instead of him breeing in a crate while im not around, we put a barrier at our kitchen exit and he has the whole kitchen to roam.. not long after the neuter I mopped the whole entire floor with mr.clean apple scent and washed all of his blankets and gave him a new bed so theres alot of new things.. I dont know, sorry for cramming the msg boards but I really need help/advice on this!! dont tell me to go see my vet I know im going there tuesdays but i want some more opinions than those of my vet just incase.. anyways thanks for any help you could give me..
sounds like he may have a urinary track infection but your vet will be able to tell you if he does a lot of times they will get one after surgery it might be something different to but know real way to tell make sure he is drinking lots of water and does he have a good stool my loose or too hard could make him do this check that out to
He does seem to be drinking normally, I mean if not more than normal from the insane ammount of pee he can spread everywhere.. His stoolsare
normal and yes, we have an appointment tuesday with the vet but I was wondering if anyone elses dog was doing that.. I agree that it might be an infection (after the first few times he did it I realized there was something wrong and stopped getting mad at him) but the rest of his behaviour is alsp crazy. Not himself at all and acting wierd and dragging his butt everywhere and going psycho.. Have your dogs acted the same after a neuter or is it just me???I just spent almost 400$ on vet fees and im just a highschool student living on her own working min wage while going to school so I dont have any more money to "Try to rule things out" I will find a way if I need to but id be reassured if someone told me their dog did that also... thx

Hi There, I just had my dog neutered on Friday and he is doing this exact same thing? did you ever find out what was wrong with your dog, did he get better? I have been back to the vet and they gave me some metacam and said come back if it doesn't get better. I am just worried, this is not normal behaviour for him also. thanks
He may be trying to scratch/rub the incision area from his neuter by dragging his back end. Sutures can be itchy. Or he could have an impacted anal sacs or an intestinal parasite if it's definitely his bum area he's scooting. It'd be a good idea to bring in both a urine and stool sample when you take him to the vets.
