Hey ya'll, i was wondering something, which do u prefer, i guess this is kinda like a poll So which gender, {of dog of course}lol do u prefer?
I guess i'll start off by saying with dogs in general, i dont really care, I'll take either, both, what ever! But when it comes to shelties, i dont really know, i've only had males, and Basil will be my 1st female so...
I always thought I preferred male dogs, probably because we always had males while I was growing up. When I went to get Natalie I had planned on taking home a male but she came from a litter of 5 females so I didn't have a choice in the end. LOL.
Now, if I were to choose, I think I would go with the puppy that seemed to best suit me regardless if it were male or female.
The first love of my life was a female basset hound named "lizzybeth". Because of her, I've always had an affinity for female dogs. But any dog who had the temperment of lizzy, more or female, I could love regardless.
I would have to say female. Now, I'm not saying I don't like the males, I've got two male dogs I love to death. But, it seems like whenever I have females I'm always closer to them.
I like to have female dog's more so than males. When I was growing up I had a mut for a dog and she was a female. I have to say that she was the best dog that I ever had. My neighbor hit her with his truck when she was 4 years old on purpose and killed her because she liked to chase his cows. Then we had a Pomeranian/Pug mix female. That was interesting. She was a good dog though. My parents now have a male dog. He is Wolf/Siberean Husky and is absolutely beautiful. He's a good dog. But I think I would rather have a female and I think it stems from having Little Bit when I was younger.
I have to agree with this. Not to say it's true with all dogs but, I know that my male knows no strangers when it comes to women, and my sibe, well, she goes NUTS for men.
Hmmm. It doesn't really matter to me I guess. I've never thought about it much other than my plants and pinetrees have suffered from Mr Goose peeing all over them. Thank God Hank squats.

The males I've had all have been cuddlers, where as the females don't demand that cuddling all the time. I do enjoy my males and even their constant need for attention, but I like that the females give me a break! Lol
Lol. Yes, nine dogs. I've got three other siblings that also are into dog showing. So, the responsibilities and training of the dogs are split up, so it surely isn't as chaotic as it could be! Lol
I have a male and a female, but since both were neutered, I guess they're the same, now
They are both very sweet and affectionate. Well, beside the fact that the male lifts his legs when he pees, and the female doesn't, they're not so much different from each other
So I guess, my answer is I love them both equally.
I have my first dog ever that was only mine and she is a female maltese/terrier mix named Scout and I would say female! I love them all, I just always bond better with females!
My employee and I both don't care whether a dog is a male or a female. You see, we breed animals so we always have boy and girl pups running around. Plus what does it matter if it's a boy or a girl? It's still a loving, kind, loyal dog that has every right to be in you home.
I have had 2 females so far, one as only a puppy and one I have right now, who is about 10. My cousins' family has a male. I personally don't like males as much as females. Some parts of the males body...just kinda disturb me. I'm sorry. But as I've witnessed, girls prefer males and boys prefer girls. So if you're a girl, you probably will like males more. My dog was spayed and she used to follow my mother all around our house, but now she scratches at my door to be let in. Both are dogs though, so they both are excellent.
well I am a female and my preference is for females. a very STRONG preference..if a male dog happened to be the perfect fit for me, I would pass on the sole matter of it being a male. dont like em, not a bit.
its funny, the differrences btw the sexes of each breed, ACDs the females tend to be more bossy, 'dominant', & business like. the nales tend to be more fun loving, laid back & goofy.... i used to only like females but now i wouldnt over look a dog simply bc he is male, i know that males can also make great pets.
