Talking Most Embarassing Moment with your Dog

My puppies who are both 6 1/2 months old never once poop/pee anywhere else other than their favorite spot in the backyard, even if you take them for a long walk, they are not the type who will pee on every tree or on every fire hydrant. I still carry plastic bags, though. You never know when the just in case moment will come.

After their Obedience Class one night, i decided to go the petstore to buy new sleeping pads for them as Cain chewed his into pieces. Me and my betterhalf decided to split the dogs, I took Abel with me to the petstore while he took Cain with him to fill the tank.

Ten steps into the store, Abel squatted and deposited the largest poop he could ever muster while everyone else paying at the cashier were looking. I nearly fainted, it was the only time I purposely did not bring a bag with me. Red in the face, I politely ask one of the cashier for a bag. I can tell she was holding back her laughter. I turned around and pick up the poop. I dont even have to describe to all of you what it felt like. Im sure all of you know. =)

But that wasn't the embarassing part of it, for some reason the store has no garbage can and there was none outside their vicinity. I couldn't leave because my DH will be back any minute for us. Left without a choice, I bit my lip and decided to shop holding the poop bag, I took my coat off, put it on my arm to hide the poop bag. I told myself I'd only have to deal with the situation for no more than five minutes, why not go ahead with the shopping, get the sleeping pads, pay and get out of the store.

To my horror, the sleeping pads were on sale. From $40 to $12.50. With that being said, there were a whole bunch of people in that aisle checking out the sleeping pads. I knew the poop stinks, as I can smell it myself. I bravely walked past everybody, pull out two sleeping pads, one of which to my luck was stucked to something else. Guilty, I looked around to see who could be looking at me.

And boy was my instinct right, everyone else was looking at me like I farted. I couldn't show them the poop bag. So I did my best to pull myself out of the situation, got the sleepings pads and left. I can feel all of them staring at me as I walked pass them. I even heard some laughter as soon as I was out of sight. One even said "She must have s*** her pants.

I was hoping the cashier line would be empty, but again, five or so more people were in line. My DH then walked in, I cant take the shame anymore, I gave him the sleeping pad, told him to pay and I went out of the store to find the nearest garbage can as fast as I can. The nearest one was about a block away.

I didnt go back in, I waited for my DH inside our truck.

There was a joke about how people blames it to the dog when they fart. Not it my case. I took the blame.

Wow that is hillarious! Sorry you had to go through that misery
My pup really has not embarrassed me too badly. He does an excitement pee once in awhile and always if a little kid comes up to him. That is kind of embarrassing but usually they don't notice it.

    Haha....too funny..

Puddles got me good other day. At the Vets office I had brought both my dogs with me. I had them on leash and we went to weigh them. First it was Ollie with no incident, then Puddles. The nurse scooped her up and I was going to put her on leash. Nurse says " i got her" No sooner than she said that Pudds caught site of the resident cat and FLEW out of her arms. While I was trying to help the nurse up who fell on her knees pretty hard Puddles was in the dispensary wreaking havoc with the cats and the other nurses who were trying to get her. As soon as I caught notice to what was going on in there I screamed "LEAVE IT" and she stopped and put her ears back with that side glance like she did nothing wrong. All I could do was laugh and cry for the nurse who hurt herself pretty darn good.

    Wow...those are pretty funny.

My worst moment so far was the first time we brought Kim to my parents-in-laws...they aren't really pet people (not haters, but not lovers either), but their daughter has a dog so they were more or less inured to having one in their house, provided it was well-behaved. Kim hadn't made a mess at my or my parents' places in over a month, and knew basic commands pretty well, so I thought we were ready.

All started well, but then Kim suddenly disappeared...finally the hubby found her...she has pushed open the double glass doors (we had closed them but they must not have latched) into the parlor area, and pooped right in the middle of their pristine, white-carpeted "nice room."

We grabbed Kim, and I took her outside (aka escaped) with the mess in a little bag for the outside trash while the hubby scrubbed like mad to get it out. Fortunately it all came out, and the parents were tooooo upset, but the first thing they do everytime Kim comes is double-check both entrances to that room...

Mudra, I swear you were telling my embarrassing moment. The only difference in my "event" was that the clerk behind the register knew me well, and announced it over the speaker system that there was a mini schnauzer on isle 4 who needed immediate clean-up.

Why couldn't he say it was a GSD or something?!

    LOL ~ Too funny.

I have many, and will tell a couple of them.

One morning, while walking Daisy, we stopped to talk to a neighbor. I was wearing flip-flops, when I suddenly felt something very warm on my foot. My old Daisy girl was pooping on my foot ~ lol

On another occasion, I was walking my blind dog. When another neighbor, walking by, asked what was wrong with him. While still walking I turned to face the neighbor. I said, "he has no eyes", then I turned forward and bashed into a tree. I'm sure the neighbor was confused as to which one of us was blind ~ lol

So far Snoopy hasn't really done anything embarassing except for the one time he tried his hardest to sniff our neighbors butt.

Lol!! Aww, I feel bad for you

I can't think of anything so extremelly embarrassing that Abby ever did, though it was pretty embarrassing when I'd have friends over and she would start humping the cat O.o

Hehe, your story reminds me, though, of whenever someone would fart, Abby would be extremelly curious and interested in whatever produced such a sound! It was hilarious at times the look on her face! It was like she was some sort of scientist studying some strange specimen, lol! She'd look all serious and cock her head to the side, burning a hole in your butt with her eyes!

LOL I am enjoying laughing at all of your stories. I almost feel bad about it. ha ha.

My most embarrassing time was at an obedience competition that I had my dog at. On the recall exercise my "perfect dog" came running right in toward me then shot past me (not slowing down) jumped over the barrier grabbed a hot dog off the plate a women had on her lap then jumped back in and sat straight in front of me. She swallowed hard and looked at me like... What's the problem, I was hungry." She was a wonderful dog. LOL I was mortified by that. It got roars of laughter from the spectators. I ALMOST did poop in my pants with embarrassment.

Another dog embarrassed me when he lifted his leg on the Animal Control officer who is a friend of mine. I had taken him to her house to show her some training things. I felt like a jerk. How am I supposed to show her anything about training if I cannot even keep my dopey dog from peeing on her?

At the dog park we let Mags run, there was a Big old Hound who was near by. Mags Ran to the huge mud puddle in the park, then ran to the hound, put her paws on him and ran back to the mud puddle as to make him mad. They both ran back to the puddle and were both covered from head to toe. I didnt know if the owner of the hound would be happy but I saw him and he was cracking up. All of us were laughing with them slipping and slidin around
    Amazing

Re: Most Embarassing Moment with your Dog

My dogs must love me so much.. I think embarassing me in public is their way of showing me how MUCH LOVE they got for me..

Just today, I bravely took them for a walk by myself. Most of the time me and Dh take them as they are getting into the stage when they can pull twice as their weight. They are more than 50lbs now at almost 7 months. And boy, its getting painful walking them together. It is ALMOST winter, but there is no snow on the ground, yet when I walk them it feels like I'm snowboarding or something.

Back to my second embarassing story, the dogs to my surprise are walking normally (barely happens, believe me!) sniffing here and there quietly without dragging me. A little girl was walking with her MOM holding a big teddy bear, she asked me politely if she can pet the pups, and I said yes. My pups are well known for being good with little kids so I wasn't worried at all that they would be any different to her. The dogs sat and let her pet them, licking her on the face. She was giggling so much she dropped her teddy bear. One of the dogs put his paws on the bear and started humping the it. The MOM instead of pulling the bear from my dog, just started laughing while her little girl was probably too shock to cry. My other dog Cain just sat there confused of what was going on.

I grabbed Abel by the collar and pull the teddy bear from him, wiped the grass and sand that got stucked and I handed it to the mother. I am not sure if the mother even heard a word when I apologized, she just kept laughing and laughing. One of the joggers who saw the incident even said "Ya gotta get them neutered soon, Ma'am. Or you're gunna have a whole lotta little teddy bears to take care of."

My boys are neutered, luckily. =)

Alvin is too lazy to do anything embarassing, but my last dog was a handful. Her name was Cameo and she was a 90lb Dobe/GSD mix with very little training. One of her great joys in life was to stretch out on her tummy in the cool grass in front of the house when we had returned from a long walk.

We were indulging in this pleasure one day when my neighbor came over to chat with me. The dog and I were both sitting on the ground, with my neighbor standing above us. Suddenly the dog saw something she couldn't resist and took off, literally dragging my on my stomach across three front yards. My neighbor stood on my lawn, looking after us and shouting "Are you okay?!?"

My dogs have done plenty to embarrass me but one thing that just happened to my brother-in law just beats all! His wife does cakes for different occasions and they always take their Jack Russel with them to deliver it. They went to bring the cake and the dog jumped out of the car like a bullet ran over to one man in a crowd of about fifty people and peed on his leg! The dog has always gone with them and has never done this before so when they asked me why the dog did this I just lost it and couldn't stop laughing. The only explanation I had was maybe he just didn't like the looks of the guy.

Re: Most Embarassing Moment with your Dog

So far Lady has not done anything incredibly embarrassing (knocking on wood) but my Last dog Jester is another story.

We adopted him from the SPCA and after about a month of getting him used to our house and us getting used to him we decided to take him to Petsmart with us. So we are going through the store and everything is going beautifully and I am starting to have dangerous thoughts. I was thinking things like "I must know what I am doing" and "having a dog isn't that hard" Apparently Jester felt the need to humble me because as we passed the crates that have dogs up for adoption IN them, and he lifts his leg and pee'd on the dog. So now of course all of the dogs are barking and I my face is Bright RED. I offered to pay to have the dog groomed or to wash him but the lady who is in charge of the rescue just laughed and had one of the volunteers that was with her that day wash him. Needless to say when I checked out that day there were several bags of food in the cart that I donated to them, as well as a special treat for our pee'd on pal. Every year we sent them a Christmas card with a donation in it and a pic of Jester. Since she was at the store doing adoptions a lot (and we were apparently memorable) we got to know her over the years and when Jester passed away she was almost as sad as I was about it.

Being humble one of the many lessons I learned from Jester.
