How do I tell if my dog has mated?

I have a Shephard/Lab mix that is about 8 months old.She started bleeding for the first time about 3 weeks ago.She is an indoor dog but has gotten loose alot lately. One time I was gone all day and came home to her sitting at my front door. How can I tell if she has mated or if she is pregnant?

You probably won't be able to. You need to get her to the vet and get her fixed. She is too young to have puppies and the fact that she is a mix means you shouldn't breed her anyway. Definately keep her contained until you can get her fixed or it's only a matter of time before a male gets to her.

Assume she has. The chances are likely. You need to get her to the vet and have her spayed immediatly. A pregnancy could be very dangerous for her, or even kill her. She is much too young.

Not to metion she is a mixed breed with no health tests
