    Spanador

I have already posted in the other thread I was looking for a new dog. This afternoon the SPCA called and said they have an 11month old golden Labrador/Spaniel up for adoption. They don't know a lot about her but will get more info soon. What can I expect. We used to have a lab so this will be a smaller lab? Just very interested in your opinion...

All dogs are differnt in how they act. Spcally mixes. You should go to the shelter and hang out with her for a while to see how she acts. Many people told me star would be snippy and get fat because he was eskie and golden. It truned out to be so untrue. Thats why you just gotta go find out for yourself. Good luck and hope you get her

You said you wanted a small dog that did not require as much exercise as your previous dog. This dog is a mix of sporting (gun) dog breeds and will require a great deal of exercise just like your previous dog.

It's up to you whether or not you decide to take this dog but don't do so unless you are ready, willing and able to give it the exercise a hunting breed requires.

Apparently, it comes naturally. I did the same thing. LOL
I agree that an 11 month old Lab/Spaniel mix will more then likely have quite a bit of energy. Have you told the Humane Society what it is that you are looking for? Just wondering if they took it into consideration before they called about this dog. It might very well be the exception to the rule that there is in every breed of dog. Good Luck. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks again! Yes I don't think they took the low energy part into consideration at all. I am going to have a look anyway and just see you never know. I like the idea she is past puppyhood and hopefully they have some more background info...

Definately not low energy. And at 11 months , a lab\spaniel mix is probably not past puppyhood. Unless you mean housetrained and adult teeth. A lot of labs stay "puppy like" for a loooooooong time.
