Emma's stay with me turned out to be rather short lived, she is back up at the training kennel and may possibly be taken into the atf "bomb sniffing" dog program.

So, meet new dog, aka Nugget. Black lab, sevenish months old, will hopefully be with me in training for a while. He's growing on me already. And also just growing- 62 lbs already.

We'll see how tomorrow on campus goes. Should be... interesting, to say the least. New dogs in class are always fun to explain.

Also, first picture is post bath. His fur is normal, I promise.

Aint he pretty? I'm kind of obsessed with his face haha. Bubba was half golden and so he got the longer golden face, emma had decent structure but weird coloring that made her look like she had eyebrows, but he has a nice blocky head.

Just a bonus as the guide dog program obviously doesn't breed for (serious) conformation. Their black labs tend to be purdy though.

Thanks yall. He's growing on me. Still missing bubba a lot but having another longer term dog is helping, especially since em was such a short placement.

and i think that black dogs are just freaking hard to photograph, so people tend to think they're not as cute. I live in yoga pants, and I'm just loving not *looking like I'm* covered in dog hair all the time.

Agreed! I have such a hard time with Zoey, especially trying to capture her facial expressions.

He is gorgeous! Love that last pic where he is working those big puppy eyes!

I do! Just dont know what to do about everyone... I feel bad dropping emma from the sig so I guess its just going to get longer and longer!

Toby and hattie are with my parents, bubs and emma are up in ny, nugget is the only one actually with me haha

EDIT: did it! for some reason its huge, but I'm too tired to fix it. I'll leave that for sometime this week haha.

Almost a month in, he'll be nine months in like a week and is about 66 lbs now, 20ish at the withers? Hoping his neuter wont make him shoot up too much. His face is getting less puppyish as well, he's growing into the giant flews!

and some funny stoned doggy shots the night of his neuter:

Oh I'd love to be a puppy raiser! Not possible now, though. :(

I still haven't met Nugget yet, we need to have a dog park day once the weather gets better!

thanks! he isnt nearly as graceful a diver as bubba was, but he loves the water even MORE (and i didnt think that was possible)

I have no idea how I missed this thread! That is one gorgeous Lab pup! :)
I love him and his big squishy ears :biggrin1:

He looks amazing. And the Dock jump is also my favorite photo, but he is so handsome.
Hes growing up to be an amazing boy. Still giving me headaches, but what 10 month old labrador doesnt?
