    Question Needy Chihuahua

Yesterday afternoon, we got a young 2 1/2 month old short-haired chihuahua. She's very sweet, but at night, she cries for attention. We're trying to get her used to sleeping in the laundry room, but she wants to sleep with us on the bed. (We don't want her to, because we could very well crush her.)

    Any help?

    Thanks

Would it be possible to crate her in your bedroom? Sometimes, just moving them into the same room with you helps.

That would be a great idea and comforting for her. Place the crate beside your bed, so she knows you are near. Also I would put a stuffed animal in the crate for her to cuddle with.

Putting in an old pillowcase or T-shirt that smells like you can also help to comfort her. (Make sure you don't plan on getting the pillowcase or T-shirt back. I'm not guaranteeing that you won't, but...accidents happen.)

I also agree with the crate and with time she will feel safe in her crate. You have to stick with it ot make it work, good luck she will stop crying soon.
