    Excited or agitated

Hi we got our 13 month old border collie a month ago he is very well trained and great with the kids, it only problem is he constantly barks at the tv or loud banging, if the football or is or anything with activity he i jumps and barks at the tv then he circles for ages is he agitated or over excited, I have bought a thunder jacket this helps with car sickness but not with the tv! Any suggestions?

Eddee does this with the television all the time ... especially other dogs and car horns. I have been just using the word "TV did It" ... and when he is calm I give him a treat.

When he begins to bark .... I will call him to me ... walk over to the TV and say "TV Did It' ... tell him to "sit" ... and then treat. He is catching on. I say it is an excitement thing.

There is probably a better way ... I just don't know it. Sometime I chuckle a bit ... because Eddee was a run away and landed himself in the shelter twice before he was surrendered and I adopted him. He probably thinks the car horns are out to get him.

Football used to drive my old dog crazy. He didn't know why we would get so excited, but he would get excited, too, and start barking and spinning around. I taught him "enough" like the "TV did it" command above.

How much exercise and training is your dog getting? Border collies are super high energy dogs, he could just be burning up with unused energy.
