Rash on inside of thighs during colder months

It must be getting colder out because Ozzie and Tylers rash has returned. It only appears during the colder months of the year, and is always located on the inside of the thighs, or what I refer to as the flanks. No bumps or raises, just a hot red rash. I apply baby powder to dry it out and in a day its gone. However, I end having to apply baby powder every day throughout the winter because the rash will come back within half a day if they are allowed to lick.

Any ideas as to why this happens every year? If baby powder is safe or if there is a more effective treatment?

I just got rid of the first rash of the year, but can take a picture the next time I notice it come back.

This sounds very similar to what Rigz has.

    What do you think?

Looks similar yes. Rigz looks pretty bad though :/ It can sometimes get to that point but I try to catch it before it does.

Does he lick it a lot? Is it warm to the touch?

The first flare up of the year just passed. I only had to apply baby powder twice and it took care of it.

Still no idea what causes it though. :/

Yes Rigz's is very bad right now! His will get that bad over 1 day but I can usually get it cleared up within a couple days. I use bag balm and it seems to really help him.
No he doesn't lick it alot and yes it is warm to the touch.
This is his first of the year but I was under the assumption last year when I took him to the vet that it was being caused by food allergies but I haven't changed his food since then and he was good all summer now I am starting to think that it could be enviromental allergies.
I never thought of using baby powder but I should try it some time.
