How does Canidae dog food compare in nutrition and price to other dog food brands? I've heard that it's a good food for less than some of the cheaper, not so great brands. Also, how difficult is it to find?
According to DogFoodAnalysis.com, canidae is rated 5 stars, which is actually a very good rating.
Alot of people recommend the grain free one more than the all life stages. I guess that is up to personal preference as long as you dog isn't allergic to any grains.
A lot of pet stores carry it, but it is definitely not as easy to find as other brands such as Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Natural Balance etc which can be found all over the place including Petco.
Canidae is really cheap. I bought 1 bag before for $10 for a 5/6 pound bag (cant remember its specific weight).
Also, if you go to scooble.com and print out that coupon, its basically a buy 1 bag and get 1 offer, so that means 2 bags of food for $10, which is a really good deal.
Some people have said that Canidae in the past changed its formula w/o informing customers and retailers, and resulted in a lot of sick dogs. I'm not sure how true/serious that was, but its just something you should be informed about as well.
My dogs were doing fine on Canidae, but I decided to feed them Ziwipeak and Orijen eventually out of personal preferences.
