    NuPro Supplement

I have a 8 year old chocolate lab who was overweight for a large part of her life. She has recently lost a large amount of weight since she moved in with my boyfriend and I, due to large amounts of exercise. The problem is we have noticed she is getting stiff. When we last had her at the vet in August she had a thorough check and bloodwork and our vet said he didn't think she had arthritis. We have been suggested to use NuPro glucosamine supplement for her. We have been using it for 4 weeks and have noticed no difference. Any one used this product and if so how long before you noticed a difference?

I have used Nupro it is a very good supplement, but I think Animal Naturals makes better products. They have products for dogs who do "sports". Maybe your dog needs help with her muscle recovery after such vigorous workouts?

    Re: NuPro Supplement

I have tried to use NuPro for my gang, but none of them liked it, so I found something else. There are alot of joint supplements for dogs on the market. Some people even use human glucosamine/chondroitin supplements. I'm not gonna list all the companies that make joint supplements because there are just too many lol...but I will tell you the one I use for Desi, my Poodle/Shih-Tzu mix that has both rear luxating patellas that are pretty bad. I've tried a few. One company I like is Wholistic Canine Complete Joint Mobility. It is a powder supplement (sort of like NuPro in that it has enzymes/probiotics, vits, etc. as well as the joint part). I feel it helped Desi. I also like and use a supplement from a mail-order company called Springtime, Inc. Joint Health. It comes in powder and chew form. We use the chews and Desi gets them after his breakfast in the morning for a treat. They have glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM in them. He takes 2 a day and he weights approx. 28 lbs. The company has been great to work with! They have sales all the time with great bogo or bog2 specials. I have used alot of their other supplements, too.

Oh really? Any links to info regarding this? Just curious.

I've used Nupro in the past and liked the results I saw.

How long should it take before we notice a difference? She has been taking it for about a month and we have not seen any real changes.

    Thanks
