If you feed your dog 2x a day, what time do you feed them at?

We feed our pup at 7:15a and 6pm. I think the 6pm is late but we really aren't always home eariler than that to feed her. We could probably do earlier on the weekends obviously so just curious what you guys do. I wish it didn't have to be 6pm because around 7:30ish she begins to dose off for her nap so I feel as though she isn't working it off much even though her last walk is at 10pm.

5:30ish for Molly's morning meal and between 2:00 and 3:00 for her second meal. I'd like to feed her dinner a little later but she gets hungry that early so that's when her meal comes. I could push it to 4:00 or 5:00 and deal with her staring me down but I feel badly knowing that she's hungry.

Morning meal (for the puppy) is at 7:45, when they're crated and my husband and kids leave the house.

Main meal (for everyone) is at 12:30.

Dinner, for those that eat it is at 11p.m.

...There are 4. One eats 3 times a day, one eats twice, two eat once.

During the week breakfast at 6:30am and dinner between 5:30-6pm. Weekends its whenever the first person gets up (usually between 7-9am) and then dinner is sometime in evening, depending on when they had breakfast. If we are super active during the day on a weekend they may get dinner earlier.

Pretty much this. Usually I feed them right before I leave for work (7 am) and I try for 12 hours later but I'm terrible at remembering, so whenever I think about it or they start staring at me. They don't usually start staring until 9 or 10. Holidays and weekends, all bets are off. Whenever I get up. They're pretty good about not bugging me for meals. But if I sleep too late they wake me up because they have to pee :p.

Alannah eats breakfast at around 7:00 (later on Sundays because that is our sleep in day. She sleeps in with us. haha) and dinner at around 5:30 or 6. She gets a kong stuffed with goodies at lunch time.

I also don't do schedules. In the mornings it's typically between 8-10 since I do abide by work schedules, but really whenever I wake up and get myself ready first. At night it's more random. I kind of wait till the last minute to see if I feel like training that night. And before I go to bed, if I realize I hadn't done any training I just give him his portion in a treat dispensing toy.
Weekends, it's ALL up in the air. Sometimes it's not even two meals, but broken up even further, like I might ask him to do a trick just as I'm passing through the room and I reward him with some kibble, or if I feel like throwing a fistful of kibble on his bed spontaneously, etc.

Breakfast for Leah is 8 am.( being she is a puppy and still gets three meals a day .... I divide hers differently)

Breakfast for the other three is 10 am.

Leah gets lunch at noon.

Then all of them get dinner at 5 pm.

Random feeding here. Usually they eat at 6:30 AM on weekdays and between 6-7 PM at night on weeknights. On weekends, depending on what my schedule is like and if I'm sleeping in or not, they eat whenever I get around to feeding them LOL. Sometimes on a weekend they will only eat once a day, and I'll just feed them their entire days worth in one sitting. Sometimes I feed them double and don't feed the next day, just all depends on what is thawing or what needs to be used up in the freezer in order to make room for more, and what schedules are like. My dogs have no issue's with this, I don't like having them used to eating on a solid routine because it can be too easy to mess it up, but raw feeding makes random meal times easier.

I am certain this doesn't affect anyone here, but . . .

One way to simplify house-training and get your dog on a regular potty schedule is to get your dog on a regular feeding schedule.

That way your dog isn't ringing a bell or doing a little cross-legged dance to go outside.

On workdays, at 5:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. On weekends, it shifts a little later, but our dogs just don't understand weekends, so unfortunately, there's no sleeping really late at my house!

I give Buster breakfast after our first potty walk of the morning. Weekdays its between 6 and 7am (exact timing depends on how much help my girls need getting ready for school), weekends are usually closer to 8am. Dinner varies even more, usually offered somewhere between 5 and 10pm. I always know when things are getting "too routine"...Bus vomits bile if he is allowed to anticipate a meal, varied feeding times has almost completely eliminated this issue.

I thought about this thread this morning. Mon, Tues and Wed of this week, I slept til almost 7am so they didn't eat til 8am. Today, my grandaughter was coming at 6am. I like to be awake & coherent before she gets here so I set the alarm for 5am. That means they ate at 6am. Mine don't "ask" to be fed, they just know an hour after mom gets up the food comes out.

Between 6 :00 & 6:30AM and then 7PM at night. When he was a puppy, if his final feed was any earlier than 7, we'd wake to him retching/vomiting anywhere from 4-5 AM. So that became schedule and we've stuck to it.

On the weekends, the morning meal may be delayed by an hour or so now - but we definitely know about it if it gets any more delayed than that!
