They had a fire or something at their facility and one kitchen was down. I think they are supposed to be up and running again better soon.

Yup, they had a fire. One of their ovens I believe. Anyway, we aren't having any trouble getting any of the lines of Acana or Orijen here in Ontario, at least not in my city. I just picked up some Orijen Puppy maybe a week ago.

    From the FAQ:

On September 8th, an equipment malfunction in our kitchens damaged one of our ovens. Until we have our new custom oven in place, we are working our remaining kitchen around the clock to produce your dog and cat’s favourite food.

Because our kitchen capacity is temporarily limited, all sizes and diets may not be available in all markets, however you may not even notice a supply issue.
If it were my company, I'd be shipping within Canada before exporting, but I don't know if that's the case for Champion.

There were also issues a month or so ago with the availability of some of their packaging, so only certain sizes of certain varieties were available.

I haven't had trouble at all. The shop where I buy it said that only certain sizes/formulas were affected. The big bags of Acana Pacifica were apparently not affected.

I don't know about Acana, I cannot get it in town and have to drive to the city if I want it, but we've still got some Orijen left at the Grange.

It's been hit or miss around here for months, since before the fire, as they had some packaging issues before that. This post did remind me though, that I probably have a week's worth of Grasslands left for my dogs and need to start tracking down my next bag...just called the closest retailer and they have two bags!!! So, I'll be running out to get them at lunch .

They are back producing on a full-scale, however they have not produced enough to restock all stores. I know chewy.com has some 30lb and 5lb bags in stock and are expecting to have full stuck in about 2 weeks.

If you live in Chicago, The Barking Lot store all bag sizes in stock for the same price as online retailers.
