    Puppy throwing up

My 15 week old Bichon has started spitting up a little maybe twice a day. It's mostly water and a bit of his food. He just started this six days ago. He doesn't do it every day. He eats Origen puppy. I have been using Milk Bone chewy treats to train him. I cut the treat length wise in the middle and then make five cuts cross wise creating ten small pea size treats. I've also used cheese cut up small, cheddar and string, but worried about him getting constipated. He occaisionally burps and it smells like his stomach might be upset. Any thoughts on what could be causing the problem?

How much food is he eatting? I find if they get hungry espeically after a long nights rest they'll throw up yellow foam aka stomach acid. Im sure its possible for it to happen in the day too.
For now, feed him some cooked rice and chicken. It works wonders for dogs with upset tummies

    Happy Halloween

He could be eating to fast and drinking water and thus burping up a little mess. Some gas is normal in some dogs. But if he has a lot of gas and has it all the time it may be that something in the food doesn't agree with him, example Soy will cause my dog to run you out of the house, even caused him to look at his own butt once. Can you tell us what your feeding, how much and how often that may help us.

His day is, gets up about 7am goes out to potty. Comes in and most of the time shows no interest in eating or drinking. Sometimes he will drink before going out or coming in that first time. Sits on my lap, plays, follows me around, goes back out 8:30-9: . Will eat some then. He doesn't normally eat a lot at one time, but over the day he eats about 1/2-1 cup of Orijen Puppy food per day. The only other food he gets is the milk Bone chewy treats I mentioned above. I'm not sure how much he weighs but I'm guessing about 5 1/2-6 lbs. he's 4mos. old. He didn't spit up yesterday after that small amount in the morning, and it looked like Stacey describes.

I have always had a problem with Orijens feeding guide, seems to me a lot of overfeeding are happening. Problem with Orijen and small dogs is that it would hardly be any kibbles in the bowl. I would look at other options if he continues to vomit stomach acid. His ph balance might be off. Knowing what food will produce acid levels he can live with is not an easy task since there is so little information. Raising carbohydrate levels could help since carbohydrates do not produce acid when digested. How much milk bone does he get per day?

Just got back from the vet and he got his rabies shot. He's good till next year except for getting neutered in July. He weighed 6.12 lbs. they said they weren't too concerned about his spitting up a little if he didn't have other symptoms like leathargy or it bcomes chronic.

I think I would try something other than cheese for training treats. Dogs tend to be lactose intolerant. My dog can eat small bits of cheese and yogurt with no problem but some can't.
