Pictures from my internship at Best Friends

So for the last 5 weeks (one week to go), I've been interning at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, in Kanab UT. and I figured you guys might enjoy some pictures from my time here so far.

Captain Muley (Shar Pei/Catahoula) on a sleepover, he fell of a cliff prior to coming to BF.

Out taking Rex the potbelly for a walk. (Yes most of the pigs get walked at least once a day, using a trail of popcorn, haha)

Klondike.. I was about to put my application in for him, but he got scooped up, he'll be going to his new home Monday..

Simbah, a sweet barely a year old Alaskan Malamute

Cabbie, she'll be on this seasons "DogTown" when it starts for those of you who watch.

We went on an offleash hike with somewhere around 26-30 dogs, what an absolutely amazing experience, plus it was a record number for the sanctuary.

Oh, I'm dying to volunteer at Best Friends! I'm a teacher, so I get almost three months off every year. I think summer vacation would be a great time to try it out...but what would I do with Alvin?!?

Well.. 90% of the hotels here are dog friendly but I don't think you'd want to leave him all day while you hung out with all kinds of other dogs.. but if you figure something out, I HIGHLY recomend it. It's absolutely amazing out here.

That was my thought too...very appropriate.

I think it's great that you got to work there. Some awesome animals too...sorry they have to be there, but not so much when I think of where they must have come from.

I have sort of started doing this, maybe I'll try and clean it up some and post it this weekend.

I don't even think I could begin to guess what kind of pup he is. His eyes were really Saint Bernard-y to me for some reason, but he was definitely not a heavy boned guy.
