| New Puppy! (Now with name on pg. 2) Here's our new little girl, she's still nameless, and we'd love some unique suggestions! We have a few we're leaning towards but nothing that has been "That's it!" yet.
She's 12 weeks, and we got her because the people who had her are moving and can't take her. Yes, they got her and had to get rid of her... Kind of sad, but lucky on our part as she's a lovely little girl who in just two days has already fit into the family nicely. She's unregistered, but is obviously an australian shepherd.
Her trying to play with my dog... He is not amused.

| Re: New Puppy! Christine - she is gorgeous! Stunning. Lucky for you they couldn't take her with them. How is Shauni with her? What no pictures of Shauni too?
I'm terrible at names, I also like people's names for dogs...so personal preference. I wanted to call Cartman... Robert, but lost that battle. |

| Re: New Puppy! OMG she is absolutely beautiful!! What are some of the names you have come up with, and do you have some sort of theme you want to go with?
Okay so I have a Some names for you that I have always loved!
Apache {because of the multi colored coat}
Cyan {From the English word meaning "greenish blue"} for the blue eyes!
Shyama {from Sanskrit meaning "dark, black, blue"}
Zera {just a twist on Zero, cuz of her ice blue eyes}

| Re: New Puppy! LmR - I know! We're really lucky they are moving and we can have this cute little girl as our very own. Shauni is pretty much hoping that I'll take her back to wherever she came from, or that I'll take him with me wherever I'm going, haha. (I'm living away from home right now, will be back in 3 weeks.) He pretty much ignores her as much as possible, but when she gets in his face a bit too much he will growl at her and put her in her place. He's not mean, which we knew he wouldn't, but he also doesn't play, which we knew he wouldn't. But, he's got some good habits to teach her, and some hopefully not good ones that she'll be too smart to learn (that running around in circles is stupid).
Shauni looks like poop now though - he's blowing his coat right now and I'm not at home to get at it. The puppy is doing a good job helping to pluck him though, lol.
Mom doesn't like people names for dogs, unfortunatey! I know I don't mind it, depending on the name. But, Puppy is going to be her dog, so she gets final choice. I suggested Avalon, but she didn't like that one.
Olympia - Thanks for the suggestions! I'll pass them along. As for a theme, I think we're aiming for a musical/poetry kind of theme. Our last Aussie cross was named Kalypso (like the caribbean music calypso), and this little girl is very similar and we are kind of thinking of keeping the theme. Right now we kind of like Chorus and Soca (another type of caribbean music). Mom also likes Arrow, which I am doing my best to veto!
Blizzard and L&LM - Thanks! She is cuddly, when she's asleep! Right now she's in the shark phase where any part of your body is fair game for chewing. But she is cute if you manage to get her to sit still for a minute.
Briteday - Thanks for the suggestions! |

| Re: New Puppy! Kamsmom - Thanks!
Amanda - No, I don't unfortunately. I'm kind of thinking she's a bit of a BYB dog - though the people we bought her from did see her mom and dad. She came from out by Eckville, AB originally. (I googled, the one breeder I found from that area didn't have any pictures of her, so she's not from them.) I don't like that she is probably a BYB dog, and that we supported that, but at the same time, she was already here, bought by someone else, and she's going to be part of our family for life now. I love her ears too! Anyway, if I get any more information on her, I'll post it here.
Thanks Hallie and M-F! I think we've settled on a name, but I won't say it until it's a for sure! :P |

| Re: New Puppy! Yep. And she'll be around for a loooong time hopefully. Our last aussie cross (as far as we could figure) lived to be 16, so we're hoping for the same for this little girl.
I'd love to do some agilty with her when she's older - and if I'm around. I'm just finishing up university this month and I will have to see where a job takes me. I wanted to do some with my dog, but he really likes having all four of his feet firmly on the ground! I'm not sure if my mom will have any other plans for her, other than she will definitely be going for rides with the horses if she's able. Our dogs have always done that, and it's pretty fun for them I think. Plus, we feel lost if we don't have our doggie companion with us in the mountains! |

Dog_Shrink - The name Marble actually came up as a choice! We all decided that while we like the idea, we didn't like that name. |
