| Re: is this a pure doberman? I think she could be a purebred but not very well bred judging from the muzzle shape. Dobies are supposed to have a longer, pointier muzzle than what that female has.
Or she might have some mix in her. Her muzzle and head makes me think retriever for some reasons. Or maybe it's just that picture angle. Not sure. |

| Re: is this a pure doberman? She looks like a purebred. A badly bred purebred. And her muzzle will change as she grows into an adult anyway, so I wouldn't say that she is a mix based on her muzzle. |

| Re: is this a pure doberman? Looks purebred, not necessarily poorly bred either, but its hard to tell without being able to see the feet, and body.
I would avoid kijiji though. Most are puppy mills, or backyard breeders, neither of those you want to support.
Does it matter if she's purebred or not? Dobermans are NOT for everyone. They require LOTS of training, LOTS of exercise, and LOTS of stimulation. If I were you, I would go to dobermantalk.com before even THINKING about getting a dobe. |

| Re: is this a pure doberman? Yes, she is a purebred from the look of it. She is adorable too. Are you going to buy her from a breeder? If so make certain her parents have all of their health clearances and OFA numbers so you can verify. Dobies are not the healthiest of breeds. So, unless this is a rescue, I would definitely check the clearances. |

Please don't buy from kijiji. This is *not* a breed for everyone, and as Inga said... not the healthiest breed out there. |

| Re: is this a pure doberman? Lovedwarrior, get a low maintenance dog. For your benefit and the dog's benefit. Your lifestyle, as described, is not suited to a Husky, or a GSD, or a Doberman. Since you've expressed a desire to have a dog that will attack intruders, I definitely wouldn't recommend a Doberman. Dobermans (as well as others) have enough to overcome with regards to public perception without being in the news because they bit someone after being trained to "defend" improperly. |

I must have missed this part?? Why would they want a dog to attack? |

| Re: is this a pure doberman? From this thread : http://www.dogforums.com/2-general-d...breed-dog.html (What large breed dog is ok in apartments?) Quote: |
I do not like small dogs. I want a protective dog for my apartment as I had an intruder before when I was sitting alone watching tv and the lights were off and my back door was open for my cats to go and come. I want the dog attack the intruder if need be before the person is in my hall.

Our two dobes have successfully destroyed our stairs, our elliptical and a sofa, and both of them work in French ring and agility 4 times a week along with an hour jog a day. And dobes are sweet! So as previous posters mentioned, they have enough to overcome as a breed and don't need someone to mis-use them. |
