Pics of Bella (lots of em)

These are from a few weeks ago when I went home and Bella ripped her ACL.. I've been waiting to get my camera cord mailed to me (left it at home) so I could show you all. I hope you enjoy [you will notice she is tethered or at least leashed for easy grab access in most of the pics since she has lost most her manners since I left for college]
Laying around the night I got home...enjoying having her rare "indoor time"

Re: Pics of Bella (lots of em)

Whoa... too close to the flash

My cat malo thoroughly disapproves of this wild behavior

The best side standing shot I could get... too much for mom to possibly stand up to take it

Lips caught on bottom teeth.. must have been REALLY focused on something

just a few more

Re: Pics of Bella (lots of em)

After she ripped her ligament and started acting funny.. didnt feel good poor baby

Possibly the saddest face I've ever seen

If you noticed a spot on her hip in the pics its a spot from laying on that side.. the vet didn't seem concerned about it.

Thanks for looking

He reminds me in several shots of my Bello. Bella and Bello, Hehehe. I wonder what that spot is actually from. Is it like a bed sore? Keep an eye on that!!

Re: Pics of Bella (lots of em)

Its a sore from laying on that side in her kennel (we put cedar chips down but she moved them ... its perfectly fine... just missing hair. It is not scaley or rough and doesn't bother her at all whatsoever.

Re: Pics of Bella (lots of em)

Haha thanks... I do a lot of smooching when I'm home. I love when she gets tired and I can pet her muzzle without "leave me alone MOM"

Re: Pics of Bella (lots of em)

Shes such a good looking bully.

I remember before you mentioned that your sister has either a fear or general dislike for pit bullls (cant remember exactly which it was) but does she know Bella is a pit bull?? as much as i can see it some people will see what they want to see.

Re: Pics of Bella (lots of em)

Thank you. Well Bella isn't exactly a pit bull (although I like to think she is ). She is 1/2 boxer (or perhaps a 1/2 a boxer mix) and we don't know who her father was (she is a HS adoptee). But me and my other sister (and the lovely people of this forum) have decided that she definitely has some pit in her. She is actually the reason I love bully breeds now (and my sister's pit Isis who I would steal if I could ).

As for my sister.. she has met bella once and did love all over her. She doesn't hate all pits or bullys but she is overly cautious of them because she is an er nurse so she has seen the bad side of pits. She also has two disabled children so when I was describing how pits make good family pets (not for her though as she needs a mellow dog) she said all the stuff about how one day they'll "turn on you'. I think what she meant was that you can't trust them with kids (like if a kid pulled its tail it would bite).

I hope to show her the good side of bullys as I will probably own another someday. She does truly love dogs but I think is sort of "brain washed" by the bad images she has seen personally in her line of work and the fact that she lives in south Florida where bullys are banned (shedding an even worse image).

Re: Pics of Bella (lots of em)

You and Pugmom are sisters?! thats very cool and Isis is beautiful i want that dog too!haha

Bella most defo looks like a pit or pit mix to me,isnt it common for shelters over there to label their pits as boxer/boxer mix to have a better chance of rehoming them?
Your other sister is entitled to that opinion and there are many bad owners out there but hopefully she'll see what wonderful dogs they CAN be

Re: Pics of Bella (lots of em)

Yes pugmom and I are sisters.. she is actually the one who got me into this forum and for that I am eternally grateful Bella was labled as a Boxer/lab? mix. I can definitely see some boxer features in her.. Especially if you closely examine her muzzle and the shape of the area around her eyes. But im sure she has at least a little pit in her. Im totally fine with that although I am concerned about being able to find a place to live with her when the time comes.

Yes Isis may be my second favorite dog in the whole world. She is more lovey than Bella and such a funny character

I hope my sister can come to see that its not the breed. In fact she did say that she knows its not the dogs fault BUT...(insert her whole schpeal). I respect the fact that she doesn't want to own a bully but I hope to show what great dogs bullys can be.
