Harlequin is the white base with black splotches... Merle (like Callahan) is gray base with black splotches.
Another thing to point out is ALOT of people say "Blue Merle" when referring to a dane that has Callahan's color. Blue Merle is also incorrect. A blue merle in "dane-speak" would be a dane with a gray base with other GRAY splotches. That dog would be blue merled (the splotches).
Anyway teehee... alot of people get the Harls and Merles mixed, but if ya know... it's not hard at all.
