Who says beagles aren't smart? #2

Hallie just turned a year old and I think as far as training goes she's doing incredibly well for a pup who's never been to a class! This is for all those people who think beagles are just "good ol' hunting dogs" since we seem to run into those people all of the time! Also pictures from recently of the pretty girl.

Being a good girl on a walk-

The summer heat kills!-

Ready for a laugh I set up a little jump for hallie to practice jumping over things on command. Her facial expressions were hilarious! I could have died from laughter here they are!

This isn't too bad-

Oh gosh yes it is!!!-

Finally coming back down, never again mom, never-

Poor girl! haha She actually handle the jump a whole lot better than what I expected. She was terrified of the bar at first but after about 30 minutes I had her jumping over it thank god for treats!

Just a random

I have never once doubted Beagle smarts! They are very food motivated, and that makes them great, willing little dogs. In the UK, my friend I trained with had Beagles. Her dogs were nothing short of amazing. I need to drop her a line!

Hallie is beautiful, and very, very smart and well trained. I love her big eyes - bet you can't ever stand to scold her. Not that, of course, she'd ever misbehave

Finally! lol someone who knows! They are VERY food motivated, you could get Hallie to jump off a cliff for a piece of bacon! They're very friendly dogs too. Wow, sounds like she had pretty welled trained beagles! Hallie is a work in progress.

Really? Before I got Hallie I was set on getting a beagle with a complete unbroken black saddle, then I got my spotted girl! lol

Thank you. Her 'leave it' is getting to be awesome. Now I can go upstairs for maybe 5 minutes and come back down and she's still in the same sit stay and hasn't moved an inch! She's doing great with training the only thing we're having trouble with is her recall, but she is a beagle

I really hate to think I'll deter you from adopting a dog but yeah, Hallie is a phenomenal snorer. I've had tons of other beagles, and beagle mixes that haven't made a sound though. It really depends on the dog but if the dog you're looking at is in a foster home then the foster mom should know. Most beagle mixes don't snore but it is a beagle trait.
