B'asia Conformation Critique, Please

Here are 4 pictures of our attempts at stacking B'asia. I've always thought she was "too square" and didn't have enough angulation, but Xeph said that isn't necessarily true. I would love to hear anyone's comments on her and I would especially love a critique from Xeph, Elana55, cshellenberger and any other GSD-knowledgeable people.

Thanks!

Re: B'asia Conformation Critique, Please

Bayzee face <3 (Yes, I TOTALLY remember that video xD)

The first photo, minus the ears back, is the best. She actually ISN'T square FIC She's as she should be in terms of proportion. She is longer than tall....so she's not square, she's rectangular xD

Her front is a bit pushed forward with a short and steep upperarm, which will limit her reach. She has good pasterns, though she's posting a bit (forelegs are a little too ahead of her in stack). I might like to see a bit more angle.

She is slightly hocky, but not terribly so (hocks should be a little shorter). Slight dip behind her wither, which is a bit flat, but the rest of her topline looks strong. She is typical German Showline in that she has the same issue as Jaia...and Strauss...and many other German lined dogs I know...short and steep croup.

Those things said, she has lovely angulation in the rear, balanced with the front. She has nice feet and her color is good, can't tell pigment in these photos. I love her nice tight feet. Her head is lovely, very strong, but feminine. She could do with a stronger under jaw.

Tailset is correct, nice and low.

She may not be the world's greatest show dog, but she is more lovely structurally than one might thing

By the way, don't know if you heard, but in 2010 the SV is allowing Long Coats back in.

Thank you SO much, Xeph! I really appreciate it! And I had heard the SV's decision about the long coats next year. It's very exciting! My current dogs are neutered, but I'm getting a new pup next year.

I can't believe you remember that video! LOL

Nope. We're still gathering data.

We did make a new raised feeder today, though...

I love these kinds of threads, she is a pretty dog! Maybe I will do one of Nash . . . if I can get him to stand in a stack (if I can even stack him!).
