Better late then never - Colorado Show Pics

Ok here are just a few pics

Best Puppy if anyone remember's CH River (male, co owned, brindle with flashy white markings) this is his cousin.

Don't know if anyone remembers the little red brindle puppy pics from a show last year but this is him, grown up big now!

Here is Kodi's first time in competition, 2nd time in a harness

I posted a bit after the show in general. Basically he was a natural and loved it, so I will starting working and training him for it. He took 1st place also. He only pulled 2790lbs and also ran out of time.

Taking a break

Here is outside of the show - they are also River's cousins and Santana's too.

That first of the outside pictures looks like something out of National Geographic. I think I've seen sharks do that same thing, lol.

Such beautiful athletes.

Mr. Red Brindle certianly grew up handsome!

Great pictures! It's always fun to see the dogs enjoying their flirt poles/hides/etc. I also really like the light red and white coloring of the last dog pictured.

And Kodi definitely looks tired after his fun

Re: Better late then never - Colorado Show Pics

What exactly are they doing in the outside pictures? Do the dogs in the first picture like each other or they just excited about whatever's being held up? And I see a lot of pictures of APBTs straining on the leash like that and I get that it's to show off their muscle tone, but what the heck are they always looking at? lol. Hope you don't mind my questions, I'm just SO curious!

Nice pictures, either way

2790lbs ?? Is this a typo or can dogs really pull that much?

I think they're playing with a hide (like a piece of cow hide). A lot of dog owners will attach them to the end of flirt poles and the like to add more interest for the dogs.

Generally (and I'm kind of guessing here) I think that's what they're using (or something similar) to get the dogs all revved up and excited in the pictures you described.

Nope. Dogs pull that and much more, in some cases.

I think I will add his pup pics, those were from less then a year ago. I couldn't believe it was him at first.

She is an awesome dog. One of my favs. She finished that show.

They will probably send the brother (the chocolate one) to a show with me in a couple months, he's not quite done.

Yeah for once he was relaxed after pulling.

Took them outside to play with the flirtpole for a little bit. I've never known them not to like each other and I'd wager that if they did not then they would go after each other rather then the hide or would go after each other because of the hide or any other high value item. Which if that were the case they would not be put in that situation at all. I don't mind. They are looking at the hide and it was done to try and get some shots of them playing and not to show off tone. I didn't have my camera set up right so several came out blurry and many I missed because they are so fast.

No I did not make a typo. He really liked it so with training he should be able to pull more. The 31lbs dog was one of the last to go out I'm thinking around 5000lbs, probably more.

Thanks Spice (and you too, Dakota). I hope I didn't offend you by saying that it was to show off tone LOL, I have honestly just seen many pictures of dogs positioned like that on breeders' websites and such that I thought that's what it was. (There is certainly a lot of tone to show off ) Thanks for the clarification. You learn something new every day!

(BTW, new river pictures soon please? I just adore that brindle pattern he has)

No offense at all. Different people take the photos for different reasons I'm sure. These were taken because I'm very fond of the light red female, I took some pics at the last show of her just sitting and standing too. I also thought some action shots would be nice since they were out playing.

I will see what new pics I have.
