Talking Winter Time in Alaska

So it's winter here, but we only have a few inches of snow and its not 50 below yet...so I'm getting out as much as I can with Pepper before the snow is taller than she is!!!

This is our favorite dog park, although no people with dogs know about it so it's our own place =D

Just some of her trying to find the bunny that she loves to chase in the park...

*Few more*

Re: Winter Time in Alaska

I have a make a mental note to NOT allow my boyfriend to see these pictures...lol He LOVES winter and to him, the more snow, the better it is. If he saw these, he might pack us up and move to Alaska! lol

I love all the pictures...Peppers adorable.

Aw, Pepper is taller than I imagined her. She looks like she's having so much fun at the dog park. I wish I had one of those all to myself. Great pictures!

Re: Winter Time in Alaska

Pepper is so cute! I wish my dogs would get the hang of the treadmill but they really seem to hate it.

Winter came to the High Sierra last night too. We got 2-3 inches of snow in the higher elevations. Unfortunately the valley didn't get any much-needed rain, just wind.

Nice shots! Love when she flings the snow on herself!

We usually get deep snow here, and Simba has to attempt to plow through it. I have a picture from last Winter I think, and we couldn't get out our back porch because is was too high.

Re: Winter Time in Alaska

Briteday, I just read somewhere, that a treadmill is forced exercise and it doesn't stimulate or tire out a dog in anyway because it's just walking in place, does that sound right? I mean I know Pep would prefer a real walk, but I doubt were going to be able to go anywhere due to -50 F and 3 feet of snow...she's gonna be so bummed

M'N'R- Yeah she's actually gotten a lot bigger, she's gained almost 4 pounds since her last vet visit, she's almost 12 pounds...and about 14 inches tall. Still a tiny tike, but, she's...uh...big at heart, well not really she's a baby there too...but..you get what I mean!

Thanks for looking

Re: Winter Time in Alaska

Your winter comes early. We had a little rain but we're going into Indian Summer.

Great pics! Pepper really knows how to enjoy herself. Way too cold for me, I'll stick with the treadmill.

Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, its about 29 outside. Still the warm part of the winter. But I didn't want to over do it with her, she hasn't had an official winter winter. When we got her winter was almost over.

Re: Winter Time in Alaska

Winter?! When did that happen? I went in the POOL last weekend! And it wasn't even a HEATED pool!

I guess the fact that it only dips down to like 50-60 here in the winter also means something.

I'm going North this winter to see snow, can't wait! Miss it a lot, I grew up in NY
