This could possibly be our new puppy, questions and, whats he mixed with? Please help!

I already have a Pug, he is 6 months old, my aunt is dog sitting and the people are hoping she would like him and adopt him because they do not want to take care of him, he is in tip top health they just do not want to do it anymore. I brought him home for the night tonight because my aunt is not sure she can care for a large dog. As soon as I let my Pug out of the crate he started growling and being kind of snappy, I do not think he would bite my Pug, just was afraid from him being so hyper, the people told my aunt he is Shepherd mixed with Lab, I can see the Shepherd part, but not the lab, here are the pics, he is supposed to be 8 weeks old, any help appreciated!!

Thanks guys!
April

8 weeks old and they already are tired of him? Sheesh. Give the dog a good home, but first do some research on introducing dogs, don't just put them together in your house.

From the story I got my aunt got the dog from the people that were tired of her, but the thing is, they had her for a little bit, which means the dog left its mom at like 4 or 5 weeks :-(....I think she was just scared, I gave her a bath, and her and the Pug are running around playing like crazy, I will get the video on here tomorrow, her tail is curly, is that possible in a Shepherd and Lab mix? I was thinking maybe Shepherd and Husky?

Many dogs have curled tails.

Ask the people who got her - if the person they got her from knew both the parents, that's a much better answer than what we can guess from a puppy photo.

i would say 90% gsd. maybe something else in there but you may never know this or maybe not for a year to come. i would not worry to much about the initial growl and snip especially with the change in venue. at 8 weeks old its probably just puppy play. you'll know if its more!

good luck. very cute dog.

Thanks guys! I just want to get a general idea, maybe the vet would know, although last night was the worse night of my life. I have to worry about my 11 month old daughter also thats what i want to know what kind she is for temperment issues. Anyhow, Madison, Shadow (Pug) and the puppy were playing, puppy takes a break in my lap and I feel something wet on my arm, I was thinking pee, but worms, EVERYWHERE! I instantly took the divider out and put the puppy on my Pug's crate and he slept there last night. ook him out at 6am, we went to bed at 3.....and just now he starts barking at the top of his lungs. Late last night he threw up also, so he needs to be seen at a vet but I am going to let me aunt take her in on Monday because we have decided that we do not wish to keep this dog, just cannot deal with her and we do not want to crate a large dog when we are out but would be forced to do so because I wont let them run in my house. I wish it all worked out

Sounds like you made the right decision. I would say with a 6 month old puppy and an 11 month old child your plate is full. I suggest waiting until your puppy is about 2yrs old and well trained before considering adding another dog. It will be much easier on you in the long run!
