Well I had to wait till it cooled down but I took Snoopy to the dog park today. I saw lots of dogs running around but as we got closer I noticed it was all big dogs. When we got to the fence we saw there were no dogs in the small dog area. Snoopy still had a blast running around, it was around 1 to 2 acres, but I was a bit disappointed that no dogs were on our side. We did see a pug come in but they went to the large dog side. I didn't bother taking Snoopy over there because when he went to look over on the other side a large lab ran up to the fence barking aggressively and Snoopy ran off so I figured that he wouldn't like it there. I hope next time there will be some dogs on our side. Anyway, here are some pics and a vid from our trip.

Thanks! He was a super happy dog! He had that big grin on his face the whole time. I've never seen him that happy.

I don't think I've ever seen pictures of Snoopy where is looks that happy! All of them were really cute.

Are you going to be able to take him to the dog park again anytime soon?

Yea I should, its only a few minutes away, though not in walking distance or we'd go almost everyday. I plan to make good use of the money I spent for the permit to go there. I just hope he will get to play with other dogs and will come out of his shell. He lays down or runs away when he see's other dogs. But thats been on leash so I'm not sure how he will act off leash. When he was dog sat with another shih tzu he loved it there.

Yeah, hopefully next time there will be other dogs around that are more around his size to play with.

I hope so to. Because I know if I took him to the big dog size he would shut down and be impossible to work with.

Its great that you sensed he wouldnt be happy over there. I have seen too many little dogs on the big dog side unhappy, My beagles love the big dog side, and the small dog side too. That is a big area for small dogs! Our small dog are is like 20 by 20 feet maybe.

You just inspired me to take my beagles to the dog park tomorrow.

Wow, he definitely had a blast! Bet he was veryyy tired after that trip! I'm glad you kept him on the small dog side even though there were no other dogs there...I've seen plenty of problems with dog parks start to happen when people bring small dogs who are not at all comfortable around big dogs over to the big dog side.

Yea, there was a min pin and it was fighting with the big dogs, it seemed like the little dog was like prey because that was the only dog they were chasing and were tackling. The owners had to keep breaking it up.

He was very tired, he happily ate all his food, I didn't need to put any treats in.

that is the biggest small dog side i've ever seen! Lucky! At the parks here the small dog side is a joke!

I also usually end up on the small dog side by myself too.
