How long do you make her wait? I hand fed both my dogs, from puppyhood. Eventually I moved to what you are depicting here, where I would put the food down, and ask them to wait. They eat on command. I like to make them wait long enough for it to really sink in that Momma gives the food  
Like another poster said, it really teaches patience Your dog is beautiful, have you always done this kind of feeding?

(I'm a nut about feeding, love to talk about it ) | She had to wait about 6hrs. She came in there while I was making the other dogs food, she had already ate her 1st meal. So she had to wait until 2nd meal time to eat again. She knows better then to take other dogs food or food that is not given to her. So she just sat there while I was making out the portions and setting them down as each were done. Torturing herself.
When I make them wait on command for their own food it is just a few minutes. But one male must waste in the dining room, be called into the kitchen, then wait again. He is almost food obsessed but he is getting better. All his training is getting better, he has tons of potential and is very smart. The more I work with him the more he shows me he is capable. | |

If I made my rotty wait that long, he'd moan and cry and chew his nails off. LOL! WTG! | |
