Hi there! I'm new to this forum. I've been a dog owner since I was born (my family has always had dogs) and now I have a new pup. We found her on the street and we think she's part Chow and part German Shepard. However, she is VERY small. She's roughly three months old and weighs only 6 pounds (looks bigger because of her fur). I was in Petsmart with her the other day and ran into someone else who had a puppy of the same mix, same age, and looked very similar to her, who they also found in the same area of town where I found her...However, their puppy was almost twice the size of mine. Is it possible she's a runt of a Chow/Shepard litter? I don't know much about runts. Do they always stay small or do they catch up? Do they come with additional health problems? She's seems pretty healthy to me and the vet says everything's okay (other than the fact she has round worms). Let me know what you all think. Or if you think she has some other breed mixed in with her that could attribute to her small size. Here's some pictures.
Your puppy is CUTE! I noticed her tongue has no black on it, Chows have black tongues and even chow mixes have some black too.
Also, her nose looks brown in the pictures? Is that right, or is it black? Hard to tell from the pics.
I would not guesss Chow/Shep due to the small size, I think there must be something smaller in there somewhere, maybe she is a mixed mix!! : )
hmmmm.......... i have a guess and i think its a shiba inu mixed with something because it looks simalar to them but after that i dont really know but still hope u find ur answer
