Ways I challenged Luna today

In keeping with what some of you said, I made a few cheap toys for Luna to mentally challenge her.

She was under supervision all the time so that she didn't swallow anything.

I made a 'busy box' out of an empty tissue box and stuffed in some kibble treats.
At first she was scared but liked it after awhile (she kept barking at it like she does the frozen kong because she is frustrated.)

Tonight I got an empty seltzer bottle, put a few treats inside and right now she's having a blast (after being scared initially).
Now she is scooting it all over the livingroom trying to get the treats. (and barking!)

That is sooo cool. And it will keep her busy and get her thinking! Killing 2 birds with 1 stone! Awesome. she sure is a cutie.

Cool! I'm going to get a soda bottle now and let Charlie play! I was looking for some mind-stimulating things to do tonight. It's pouring rain here so we can't go out. Thanks for the ideas, adn love the pics! She looks like she is having a ball!

Ya, if your dog ever gets really good at unstuffing Kongs, pack them with freezable goodies, that makes them last longer. Then, when your dog gets really good at unstuffing frozen Kongs, put it in the center of a dish towel, tie the dish towel in a knot, and have her figure that one out.

Be warned, if you dog is creative, she just may tear a hole in the dish towel to get at the goods. Fair play as far as I'm concerned.

Excellent job!

Good job Gypsy22. Keep that little mind working on productive things. keeps the house safe as well. LOL As they say a tired dog is a good dog. That certainly goes for mentally worn out. LOL

Re: Ways I challenged Luna today

Well, I have to think of these things (no one else in the family will!).
She must have gotten tired out by the seltzer bottle (a little stronger than a water bottle) because she sacked out in her crate.

We always have bottles around so it's just another cheap toy, right?

She cries at the kongs..but I like your ideas, Curbside Prophet. She wants ME to unstuff them (I usually freeze one every night for her). I also freeze the washcloths for her to chew on.

If I mention anything like this to my husband he just gets annoyed and calls me 'The dog expert.'
