| Re: Found Coco's adoption pic Looking good!
It's always amazing to me, how raggedy the Nordic breeds look when they come into my local shelter. With us, the problem seems to center mainly around Mals - but there have been some pretty sad looking Sibes, Sammies, etc. as well.
My guess is, it's another instance of ignorant owners not knowing what kind of coat care is going to be required. That and a number of the dogs we receive are 24 hour outdoor livers. |

| Re: Found Coco's adoption pic That's some intense change you got going on there RBark. Ollie was looking quite rustic in some of those earlier pictures. The shimer is just so pleasing isn't it? All of mine have that finally, where the ends seem to dance in the sunlight like strands of fiber optic wires. Now I'm gonna have to dig through the Ridik pictures and find his comparison, being shaved (not by me) has made this a test of patience. Not to mention he was sickly thin when he first came around.
Can you tell how much mass Coco gained in the rear from daily jogs?
Found Ridik's pictures! He first came around here in July looking like this:
These pictures were taken in the last two weeks:
Just amazing what some steady exercise and proper diet can do...

| Re: Found Coco's adoption pic Wow, he really was thin. How much did he weigh? You can really see it around the hips.
And yeah, when he came to me, I put him on Solid Gold Barking at the Moon. He made a great change, but the REAL stunner came after I started feeding raw. The difference is really phenomenal.
I'm just waiting for Ollie's tail to heal. Then I can be happy with it! Tails heal so slowly! |

| Re: Found Coco's adoption pic Hehe, I couldn't help but laugh at that last picture of your dogs sleeping together. Your St. Bernard( Bubba, right?) reminds me so much of Cali.
You did a wonderful job with Coco, looks like one happy, healthy dog! Ridik is also beautiful! |

Even carrying the water and supplies for our walks, he seems to have leveled off there. Now he's an outspoken chunk of solid Husky! Knock on wood, I havent had the pleasure of a tail injury yet, but at Christmas we had:
Coco with a sliced main pad...
Tambi with a broken metacarpal...
... and not to be left out, Bubba with a burst sebaceous cyst (of course, INFECTED). Tough few weeks there I tells ya.
I don't have a pic for some reason, but right before these three had their issues, Sioux had cut a half dollar size chunk of skin off his right rear leg with an axe I had left outside on the ground. Totally my fault, I darn near had a complete breakdown freeze-up when I saw that blood everywhere. Today Tambi is one week from losing her cast, and then getting spayed. Ugh. More recovery...
