| Our recently adopted Lucy... The rescue we got her from said they rescued her from another rescue who had rescued her from a high kill shelter. I can't imagine anyone turning her over, so I'm assuming her previous owner died, it's the only thing I can imagine since they did not seem to know her actual history. She was about 3 lbs underweight and has gained a pound since being with us. She had a yeast infection, and a intestinal infection that we have since treated and she is meshing nicely with the whole family including the kids, and is even learning slowly to leave the kitties alone... LOL
We were told she was a shih tzu mix by the rescue group, but have since learned from our vet she is actually a terrier mix, after researching some terrier websites I found several dogs that look very much like her on a jack russell website. So we are now calling her a jack russell mix. with an underbite that makes her irrestible. She has made an incredible addition to our family |

| Re: Our recently adopted Lucy... I think the underbite is what got me when we looked at her. She looks like she's smiling, even when she's doing something she's not supposed to... makes it really hard for me to correct her!
She does kinda look like benji! Like a messy little mutt. That's what we love about her, she even looks like that after a good brushing. Such a ham. I would never get a puppy again, adopting an older dog that is through the chewing stage is priceless!
Thanks everyone! |
