| Yesterdays Adoption Yesterday was a very cold, wet, and windy day! We had to stay inside and it was pretty slow people wise. The three litters were there along with alot of other dogs.
Sugar is still with us and looks pretty as usual. She's one of my sisters favorites and has passed the tests to become a therapy dog. Yet we've had her for two years. She's a Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Pointer mix and love all stuffed toys.. almost to much.
Sampson is also still with us. He has been coming upto adoptions along with his mother and siblings since he was only a wee little puppy. He's now full grown. His foster passed him off and now after 7 months wants him back..She's been saying this for months now. He may be better off with us for now.
Three of the puppies from the Terrier litter have apps on them two of which are the last spotted pups. They're being adopted together. |

| Re: Yesterdays Adoption And of course my baby.. it's getting harder and harder not to adopt him. I'm getting to see him grow up and that only makes it more hard.
Look at those feet!
He's such a big baby though. He'll sleep on his back, let you cut his nails, give kisses no stop and has huge gun dog ears(that I LOVE)..
I can't get sucked in, I can't get sucked in, I can't get sucked in!! |

| Re: Yesterdays Adoption Awe... and why cant you???
He really is soo beautiful, I can't believe how much he has grown. If you do not keep him (I think you should) lol, I hope you find him a great home. The others are beautiful too! It seems that alot of black Rottie looking dogs get the name Sampson, hehe. Our boy is named Sampson, and got his name because he has the certain "look" like my dad says. And many years ago we took in a Rottie mix that we had named Sampson, even before we new we would be keeping him.
LOL, why is he the spawn of the devil? Is he/she a devil cat? My best friends cat, Stubby is really a devil. He is soo bad lol.
Good Luck!!!

She gets along with all dogs, people, kids and love her stuffies. She can tear one apart in a matter of seconds lol and it's the only thing that keeps her quiet. That or a very, very, very long walk. Quote:

Nessa | Oh believe me if I could I would in a heart beat. He almost came home with us the first day, but when I started to think things throught here is no way. We alredy have Buster(80lbs), Mahalo(53lbs), Duncan(30lbs), and Teddie(15lbs). That is almost 200 pounds of dog already and another 70-100 lbs dog would put us over the top right now. With family being sick all year long and people leaving town we can't have a pup.
He did get an application, but we turned them down. They didn't even touch him and they wanted them for their son(holiday season). Plus they live in a small apartment. There is no chance and we'll be even harder since we like him so much lol.
I can't remember the kitties name, but she's wild, wants to bite, and she sneaks up behind you and scared the living daylights out of you. She is just wild..and I'm not a huge cat person so it fits.. She can; it's just she doesn't want to be. Her foster loved her. |

A BYB would have sold that big baby boy away to anyone in a heartbeat, even if they lived in a tiny trailer. But an impulse want like that... for a christmas gift... in an apartment! Did they not see his huge paws and know what kind of mix he is!? LoL. I'm glad your going to find a great home... I would take him in a heartbeat! He is absolutely beautiful... and my weakness is big doggies! |

They were told he's going to be very large. That his mother is pure weimaraner(we have her) and she weighs around 70 pounds. We even told them he is going to need a yard, but they still insisted on filling an app. out. Hey they wanted to waste their time..and our paper, but they still didn't get him. I'm actually surprised not many people have been looking at him, but at his other brothers and sisters. He's the only puppy that has those big gun dog ears that are naked on the back. I squeal every time I see him and play with his ears. Sadly he's even the background of my computer.. Can you tell I love him? I'm heart broken I can't take him! |

After the Ellen thing so many caring wonderful rescues took such a hit. Of course, the irresponsible pet owners don't want anyone to check them out before adopting. They even know they have failed elsewhere. I am glad you got some apps on the puppies. I hope the Rottie mix can find a forever home. That is far to sad to be "in transition" forever.
Why did his foster home give him up in the first place? I am glad they are not letting him go back he is a dog not a yoyo. |

Why did his foster home give him up in the first place? I am glad they are not letting him go back he is a dog not a yoyo. | I'm not sure what's happening with him. His mother was pregant on the street and some one beat her in the head with a hammer causing her to go into labor early and on someones front door step. She had I think 5 puppies and she was taken in by his foster. She already had a ton of animals and was soon kicked out of her condo. He's actually not Rottie believe it or not. His mother was Pit/Dalmation and his father was some type of Bernese Mountain Dog... and he's a big couch potato. His old foster was bad about finding homes so his mother and other siblings also got adopted, but have all been returned. Sampson has been adopted three times; once by a couple who decided he was just to big after only having a matter of hours. Another who just thought he was to much after he was taken home and the last was a guy who was sick but was able to care for him. He wanted company while his son was gone. He was a reallys weet guy and the home check checked out, but he started having more medical problems and couldn't care for him. Now he's in a great foster home with 10 acres to play on with a ton of other dogs. So I really do home he doesn't get returned because he wont have the same quality of life as he does now. nlkeple - I really wish you could meet her. she is such a good dog and has so much to give. If you want to read more about her here is a link to her bio. http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/...?petid=8338920

| Re: Yesterdays Adoption It's great to see those little faces I think were I in the position to be making decisions for Sampson's future I'd keep him at the shelter. It's not really far to have the dog shuffled around because his foster mom can't make up her mind.
ETA: Just read that he's got a great foster home, that's fantastic!
They are all cute of course, I'd have a hard time not bringing a few home. |
