Any guru's to help with breed?

Hey, enjoying reading up on the info on this site and got me thinking if anyone could help me identify my dog. I picked him up about 2 years ago, when we got him he was abandonded and a friend was looking after him at the time, I think he was about 4-6 months old at the time. We took him in and has been a great dog a couple of bad habits (will take my food right out of my hand or the kids, something to do with his scavenging days? Digs in the garbage and will eat anything) but we're slowly trying to figure out how to deal with that.

Anyway I've been asked alot what breed he is and I just guess, kinda husky something or other. He's obviously a mix breed but I'm hoping for some part this and that info. I can tell you he doesn't bark all that much more of a howl, maybe part terrier? Has seemed to taper off in his size not a very big dog only about knee high. I don't know thats why I thought I'd ask some dog guru's out there anyone help me out?

thanx for any replies, I'll try to post some pics

For some reason the last two pictures aren’t working. I'll hold my guess until then as I am hoping there is an adult shot of him.

Sure is a cutie though!

He looks like he might have some Jack Russell in him, his face reminds me of that but the color, more like German Shephard. He sure is cute!

Yeah, the last 2 pictures wouldn't work for me either. Do you have a link to either photobucket or something??

Do you have a pic from his side of him standing. Also how tall is he at the shoulder?

Re: Any guru's to help with breed?

By the way his tail (when he's happy and playing) curves right around and goes all fluffy. When he's just doing daily routine his tail just kinda hangs low and is all flat, lol, if you know what I mean. I can't find any pics at the moment, thought that might help thanx

I'll take some pics of him tomorrow standing and side view with tail up..

I probably would have said the same, GSD\Husky. But the profile of his head doesn't scream either one of those to me. Maybe GSD\Lab w\a side of husky? And is it me, his markings, or does he have really short legs? He's definately a cutie, and very unique.

Re: Any guru's to help with breed?

He's got some kind of husky in him. Might be siberian might me part malamute (hope I spelled that right). Yeah, he's literally got half the looks of the husky, which is a dog that doesn't bark much but sure does howl a bit. It's a cool sound, isn't it? I'm not sure what the other part it could be. I'm thinking maybe a german shepherd. It's got the coloring of one and even though its snout isn't as pointed, that could be the husky genes softening it up. But that's what I'm thinking it is. You definetely have a gorgeous dog!

Re: Any guru's to help with breed?

thanx for the compliments. I'll let him know I took these today His legs are about 10" long and back/shoulders are 20". A small dog if comparing him to a husky Etc. I'm very happy with his size now I thought he might get much bigger.

Not a guru, but he's too cute - He looks like a miniature German Shephard. Maybe he's one of those new breeds, a German Terrier LOL Just joking, but he does have a very Jack Russell terrier like face.
