| Got a pup from the city pound this week...(pic) I have been wanting to get another dog to keep our English Setter, Freckles, company. Life just seems too lonely for a dog by himself, especially when my fiancee and I both work full time + other commitments. So... we got a puppy.
Here's my new boy, Mauser:
And his big brother, Freckles:
You may recall, I had some potty issues with Freckles when I first moved in. He would only go in the dog park at our complex. Well, some time ago he decided the dog walk across the way was sufficient for his sanitary needs! GREAT SUCCESS!!!
Yep, both great dogs. Love 'em both!
ETA: Not sure what breed(s) Mauser is exactly. The city Animal Services said he's a "Shepard mix". Mix with what??? I do not know

| Re: Got a pup from the city pound this week...(pic) They sure are cute! I agree with shephard mix but I can't tell with what though. But maybe a puppy wasn't the best choice since you both have full time jobs, perhaps you should have gotten a adult dog like freckles. I'm only saying it because it will make house training a whole lot harder as Mauser looks like a young pup who will need to go about every two to three hours. |

| Re: Got a pup from the city pound this week...(pic) Pup's adorable, and I'm just in LOVE with Freckles!! I LOVE English setters and hope to have one someday...I think my next dog will probably be another golden, but I'm thinking like 7 or 8 years down the road, when I have a house with a nice yard and am fully settled into a job (post-grad school) and have the money and all, I would like to rescue an English setter. It seems so hard to find good breeders, as they aren't that common, and by that time I think I'll have enough of raising puppies, lol!
Please please more pictures of both the pups! |

My fiancee works 0730-1600 and I work 1000-2000, so the pup is only alone for six or so hours during the day, and we have different days off (her sat-sun, me wed-thurs) so the pup is only "home alone" three days a week. It sounds worse than it really is
And he DOES go every two or three hours
Here is my favorite picture I've taken of Freckles so far...
And here's a fun video we made over on YouTube... http://youtube.com/watch?v=JgL4PRP7UIY

I totally understand with the diffrerent schedules, my fiance and I have different work schedules also and we're thinking of adopting a pug in the near future, maybe within the next year or so, and we're already dreading the all so evil task of potty training!
Great addition to your ffamily! |
