| Re: Messin with photoshop Sammydog, those are really cool. So tell me, does one have to pay hundreds of dollars for a program that does all of that or is there a cheaper one that works? I think we both know I can't handle anything too technical anyway.lol |

| Re: Messin with photoshop Cool pics! Gimp is supposed to be almost as good as photoshop, but free. I've never used it, since I've had photoshop (albeit, a very outdated version) for ages. |

| Re: Messin with photoshop I got a friend who I beleive has photoshop, I'm gonna ask him to borrow the disc. lol I think its ridiculious that they charge so much for a computer program that is only going to be used once. |

| Re: Messin with photoshop Photoshop CS3 (newest version) is available at Best Buy for $617. It is by far the best graphics program that there is. All (or any that are worth anything) media and graphics businesses use it. Most of what you see from anyone on here (myself included) barely scratches the surface of what it can do. I've spent many hours reading books and tutorial cd's on using it, and still feel like a novice with it. Photoshop wasn't made to edit pictures for a signature. It was made for high end graphic designers, and they gladly pay that kind of money for it.
You oughtta take her collie pic, and add the color back into just the flowers, in a very sepia shade. That would look really nice.

| Re: Messin with photoshop Well I have spent an hour working with gimp and I couldn't figure out how to just go around Snoopy and get rid of the background to where it was just the body but I could never figure it out, I'm just going to uninstall it because its to hard. Unless someone teaches me. lol |

| Re: Messin with photoshop I probably wouldn't be talking about borrowing Photoshop - or any other commercial program - from a friend. It's a violation of the licensing agreement and Adobe takes that very seriously.
Photoshop isn't something you buy (or borrow) and use once. It's a program you spend a lifetime learning and still use a percentage of the features.
For those who want the most frequently used features, without the overhead, Photoshop Elements is a terrific program - now in version 5. It's still not exactly cheap, but for most users it's more than enough.
Nice job, BTW. |

| Re: Messin with photoshop Hold down the shift key, while right clicking on one of the pics. Go to the "open with" option. A side menu will pop up, choose "Choose Program". This will open up a window that you can set a default program to open all of the .bmp file types. Click the box at the bottom that says "Always use the seleted program to open files of this type". You should get you icons back. |

| Re: Messin with photoshop OK. Click on your start button, and select control panel. When this opens select folder options. Click on the File Types tab. Find BMP under the extentions column. Click on the advanced button. Then click on the change icons button, and pick which icon you want all your bitmaps to be. |
